MBE 900 oil pressure and usage question

OK, IF your rpm is not dropping when you go up the hill the only thing that will cause an oil pressure drop is heat. you climb the hill, the turbo spools up and works a bit harder and the piston undersides get hotter and this heat gets dumped into the oil causing it to thin out a bit. Maybe, you...

MBE 900 oil pressure and usage question

Couple more questions.. climbing the hill you loose no speed or rpm but loose 10 lbs of oil pressure, do I have that right? Does the engine temp change at all during this climb? Have you checked the oil lately...over or under full? Does the problem get worse or better after an oil change...

    2001 Sterling Acterra

Freightliner is usually really good at sending notices out. Recalls don't "pop up" unless the dealer logs into the corporate site for other service info. Have you contacted the area rep from corporate? 1800-ftl-help should be able to tell you who it is. Calmly (and that sounds like it might be...

    Double Clutch or Not?

Wow, been a while since I heard of a PS Spicer. I'm definitely wrong then. A KW 2120? I got a research project on my hands now! You make me think more than my wife......not thinkin this is a good thing.

    Double Clutch or Not?

Guess I should've said the Eaton model numbers start with FS. If you have a Spicer 5,6 or 7 spd it is fully synchro as well so no double clutching req'd. Let me know how the powershifting turns out. Quater mile times in the high 50's maybe:D.

    Double Clutch or Not?

Just remember folks, even though your Eaton 8 speed and up has synchro's in it, it is NOT a synchronized transmission. The only fully synchro transmissions are the 7 speeds and under, the model numbers all start with "FS". These puppies do not need to be double clutched unless they are wore out...

    Double Clutch or Not?

You gotta it right Ark, double clutching is once to take it out of gear, release, clutch again to put in in the next. And all done fairly rapidly.

    Double Clutch or Not?

If when you shift without the clutch, the gears grind OR it seems like you have to push or hold the shifter a bit to force it in to gear...you should double clutch. If you can shift and the shifter just kinda falls into gear you can shift without the clutch. (this means you're doing it...

    What's your sig line mean?

Mine is a plea to everyone who shops (that's everyone of us). If we buy stuff that gets made here, then the plants are busy that need expediting. Who really wins if we all buy offshore stuff? You save a few bucks but at what cost?

    K&N air filter for Sprinters

The K&N flows better cause it filters less. Strain dirty water through cheesecloth or through window screen, which one ended up cleaner? The K&N is the "window screen" of air filters. Cool sound, maybe some extra air, uggo on the MAF and dusty air. Any of you with Duramax's, the stock filter...

    Cat 3126 question

Bump it up, no engine likes the reduced oil flow at idle for long periods of time. Better yet, think about an APU, you'll save money and be happier.
