    T/T Gap

Extensions don't matter till you get close to 90 degrees. 24 and 36 are both common. If your looking for a "set it and forget it" set it up for a 36 inch pin. Just remember to watch your axle weights!

    T/T Gap

Sometimes it's all about lookin' cool! yeeechhh. There is the bridge law way of calculating max GVW'S and from what I remember in the "good old days" each state was allowed to do it however they wanted. Many states favored the idea of very long vehicles to spread out the weight. This is why you...

    T/T Gap

Sorry P, I'm not known for simple quick answers:rolleyes:. Let me put it this way, A 102 inch wide trailer with a 24 inch deep pin will need 36 inches of space from nose to back of cab to allow the corner of the trailer to clear the cab when the trailer is at a 45 degree angle . The same...

How Does it Feel to Buy Fuel?

I just get a sickly feeling. I paid 1.269 a liter today and my first thought was that wasn't too too bad (I was in a remote area) and then I stopped and realized I thought 1.26 wasn't BAD?!!??! I feel for everyone whose FSC is not keeping pace with the price and especially for those whose...

    Re: Reliable Delivery

In my short time in this business I've learned one thing, Courier = cheap The more your expedite company strays into the courier territory the more unhappy you are likely to be. The outfit I'm working for does both. When I expedite I get decent pay, happy appreciative customers, decent runs...

    T/T Gap

It depends on the kingpin depth on the trailer. A trailer with a 36 inch pin can be set closer to your cab than a trailer with a 24 inch pin. It can also depend on your 5th wheel height (yes height!). A taller 5th wheel will rotate more meaning the trailer can roll into the top of the cab more...

    Fan Trouble 2

I've never been verbally abused by a viscous clutch but I have had more than enough physical abuse from them, the do bite really hard! An on off clutch is simply that, usually air operated the fan is either fully on or off. Easy way to tell is with the truck shut off if you grab the fan it will...

    Fan Trouble 2

Guess we might have to chalk this one up as one of the joys of owning a truck. Here's a dumb question I should have asked, Does your fan have an on-off clutch or a viscous clutch?

    Fan Trouble 2

Lay, it sounds like the high pressure switch is triggering the fan. The switch may be "working" but is it working properly and for that matter is the A/C ok. If the fan problem only happens with the A/C on then don't look any farther than the A/C. In most trucks, the fan is turned on when the...

    1998 FL70, CAT 3126, 6 speed Allision automatic

I'd be asking yourself if you want to spend that kind of money to bolt a fresh engine up to 10 year old everything else. Your engine problems might go away but what's next and where do you stop..........

    Making your own Bio Diesel

Making real bio-diesel is not as easy as TV makes it look. The costs to set up a good reliable reactor to make a clean product and the time involved are not insignificant. I set up a real small set up to test an animal fat for a beef company. I was amazed at how finicky the process was. That...

    How busy is busy?

Nothing official, I think they do it for the Canadian work but most of our guys don't want US work, I prefer it and try really hard not to screw it up so I think that's why I get it. Problem is we haven't had enough of it. When I'm just bouncin around in Ontario I get the feeling we get "equalized".
