OVM,
Sometimes it is those RV'ers. I sat at a walmart and watched 'campers' throw crap all around the parking lot.

Yep..sometimes it is...

I seen a driver once leave his discarded pee bottle (full) in the cart along with all his garbage...now that is disgusting...

I've never understood that. What's so tough about putting it in a garbage can? Guess we'll never know by asking on a forum; my guess is people who dump pee bottles around don't spend a lot of time reading.

Park out front? Anybody that does that better pray to God I dont see that.I'll walk by and smack the side of the van and make them jump out of their sleep.Am I being a Peckerhead? **** right, but no more of one that parking in front of the building.
I don't like to park right out front of the building, but every once in a while I'll do it for an hour or so in late afternoon, if that's the first part of the lot to see any shade.

It's a shame more truckstops can't be like that Flying J near Wytheville, with trees around that provide some shade. Heck, that parking lot is almost like a park.

we must be luckier than most. never been told to move at a j.

was told at the walmart across from the super bowl site this year that the local ordinances do not allow rv parking with in the limits of the city. was told that 19 times in 5 minutes. all we wanted to do was reset the beds. sheesh.

the wal-mart in mountain view calif has trees all over the parking lot. very nice and quiet. one reason the j cannot have trees is because the 5th wheelrs think they should be allowed to drive thru the lot no matter how many times they have to back up and start a turn again. makes for good entertainment in places like jackson ms where there is a telephone pole at one end of the lot(after the lot was built is our guess).

I don't blame Walmart in the least..some of them big trucks are really tearing up the lots and breaking up the curbing...and then some slobs leaving their garbage around...

But WalMart has closed circuit cameras covering the lot, [one reason I like to sleep there], so shouldn't they be able to identify the specific trucks that cause damage, and pursue them for repairs?

Me in my cargo van has nothing to do with big trucks tearing up parking lots.

I would actually prefer to park in the back where the big trucks are. I hate being parked in the front lot having to listen to alarms chirping, car doors slamming, and bikers or rednecks with pick-up trucks reving up their engines every five seconds.

I think that the truck stops need to fence in an area back where the big trucks park for expedite vans to back in there and bed down for the night. I'd actually prefer this.

Are you kidding me? The constant smell of pee? Truck engine fans cycling continuously with the a/c? Air dryers cycling? The risk of getting backed into?Lot lizards knocking on your door?Bums begging? No way, after putting up with all of that since 1989, I am really enjoying this parking up front thing !! I dont miss a cattle hauler parking next to me in the middle of the night, getting splattered with cow crap and pee, hearing them mooing, and kicking the walls and moving around.NOOOO WAYYY !!!

I try to park at a walmart on the back side ends, no one comes thru there with their boomboxes, and such, its to much trouble, they want to show off out front. Im in a cv. I have not been ask to move at a FJ yet, guess Ive missed that fun for now. I usually stay at wmarts anyway, to many nitwits at truckstops, usually the locals are the nitwits.

Right now I am at the Dallas Flying J, out front. It is amazing me the mentality of some of these van drivers, and how much lack of courtesy in where they are parking. The best and most courteous place for expedite cargo vans would be to park around the perimiter of the car parking lot, giving their customers the best parking available. We all need to excercise anyway. But I can 't believe how many are parking right in front of the restaurant windows, or right smack dab in the middle of the parking lot. This kind of stupidity is why were are not allowed to park in some Flying J's already, and it will only get worse.

That guy that cleans up the lot at the Dallas J is a reaaly nice guy. He will most often stop by and ask that if you smoke not to throw your butts on the ground and don't leave the "P" bottles under the van when you leave....how can you not do the right thing when the guy iis courtesy and as nice as can be when he stops by...and he will also explain that you really need to be on the curb away from the middle or building...but he is nice about it, not a hard azz...

If more people in our business did the right things the right way, we wouldn't be asked to move from anywhere....but....

As far as a D unit up front, they don't want you in the Travel Trailer or Motorhome spaces and that is understandable....but then again there are "J's" that are ok with "D" units up front...i think it all depends on their customer base....

Let me tell you about Flying J in Sioux Falls, SD, yesterday during a rather violent storm, motorist, truckers and others were told to leave the truck stop after they lost power. This was told to me by my daughter and son in law who with 3 young children sat in there car during heavy rain high winds and hail, during this storm, an RV was blown over on the exit ramp off I29 to the truck stop. Possibly Flying J had a reason for this action, but they will not see my smiling Irish face again.:mad::mad:

It is common practice of a lot of establishments to close temporarily during a power outage...I was once locked out of a Walmart for the same reason...

When I park in front at the J I always park along the curb and as far from the resturant windows/door as possible and most of the time I can still get the wifi signal and when i park at Kmart or Walmart I park away from the building on the edge of the property/parking lot

People have to remember we are guests...we have NO rights to park there overnight...many have NO overnight parking signs and time limits..they extend us a courteous of not making us move....being a customer only gets you so far....being unobtrusive and out of sight, out of mind usually works. :)

:) Just a note 4 people looking 2 park at the J in evansdale, iowa . Try going west 2 miles 2 the casino , plenty of parking and the shade trees are getting bigger. Another idea if in the waterloo area and going 2 be there overnight AND in NEED of shower GO about 15 miles west to DIKE and get off exit on south side. VERY nice ,newer campground with bathhouse . I think its $ 12. to stay over night . GOOD fishing and NICE shower and a quiet place 2 sleep. Oh 1 more things about PEE bottles, IF you use THEM it only takes a FEW seconds 2 dump out on grass THEN throw bottle away. I always figured IT was the RIGHT thing 2 do. I M O
