Who knew Thad was so popular and could draw so many Dems to vote for him?

Well ... considering McDaniels apparently retweets white supremacists, it might not be real surprising that certain segments of Mississippi's population would prefer to see Cochran get the nomination ...

But you and ... I think it was Pilgrim that got all slobbery over him ... just keep on beatin' the McDaniels drum ...

Seems like just you fellas kind of guy ... LOL ...

That BASELESS INFERENCE would seem like it to someone with foggy thinking and no facts to back it up.

LOL ...

Well, if I were dispensing advice I'd say "... put down the shovel and just walk away ..."

But why would I want to do that ... and kill off "a gift that keeps on giving" ?

Pilgrim has previously described McDaniels as a "principled conservative" ...

McDaniels connection to white supremacists is well-documented ...

So are Pilgrim's repeated references to Obama as our "boy president" ...

You ain't got no lipstick that will "pretty up" that pig of a dog whistle ...

You said 'you fellas' as in addressing me. I inferred that you meant racism appeals to me and that people that are racists are my kind of people. I'll take that you were just talking out of your rump oriface and leave at that, because as I stated before you don't have any basis for that comment towards me.
Now getting back to the topic. Do have any racist quotes or instances of actual racism from Chris McDaniel?
I wasn't aware you played the guilt by association game, whatever the actual association might be. If you want to go down that road, it seems I recall you being all in for a candidate who associated with writers of a certain 'news letter'.

I think 'you fellas' comes closer to addressing the poster rather than the post.

In a month or less it will probably be "who is Chris Daniels"?
Maybe so, and then again he might run as a right in. Most of those democrat voters Cochran garnered, with the race infused scare tactics, such as flyers and robocalls , won't be voting for him in the general election. Additionally McDaniel receive a massive amount of republican votes over Cochran. And finally ,most of the McDaniel voters are left totally disgusted by the crap that was pulled against him. Most probably won't vote for Cochran now. Cochran's goose might be cooked.

I would encourage Tea Party voters in Mississippi to vote for Thad Cochran's Democratic opponent in November. It would be an important lesson to Haley Barbour and the GOP Establishment. If the GOP Establishment is willing to disrespect its conservative base, then the GOP is of no use whatsoever.

I'm so conflicted.

The Tea Party is the best thing to happen for liberals since JFK. :)

The Tea Party is the worst thing to happen to this country in my lifetime, even worse than the PeeWee Herman movies.

I hate everything the Tea Party stands for and yet I love them.

Thanks for making people aware of what a twisted joke Reaganomics was.
Thanks for making people aware of what a twisted joke "the job creators" was.
Thanks for wounding the Republican party.
Thanks for bringing hate to the forefront and making the nation aware of what a problem we have.
Thanks for winning the occasional primary. Liberals always need all the help they can get in November.
Thanks for the babes on Fox News - hey I'm a guy alright? :)
Thanks for showing us what it looks like to only pretend to be religious.
Thanks for honoring Joe Mccarthy the way you do.

I might add to this list. Give me time. Meanwhile I'm conflicted.

I'd like to see him run third party in November. He had more of the republican votes than Cochran, by a large margin.

The Tea Party grassroots movement might decide to divorce itself from the GOP. Wall Street and the Chamber of Commerce can have the GOP Establishment. Right now, there is a civil war going on inside the GOP and I see little reason for Tea Party supporters to stick with the GOP.

Democrats very rarely primary the incumbent . They are so lock step with their cliff march towards socialism.

Yes, that appears to be the case.
Just think what a landslide the Dems could have this November if Obama and his party didn't do their part to muck up the economy and other things. Opportunity lost.

As for your economics link: yup, that's why the Fed has begun to taper off helping the economy. :) Freight rates are up compared to last year and for some reason Zillow thinks my house is worth over $10k more than it was last month ?!?! But yes, the economy is still fragile, a near complete melt-down will do that for ya.

Ah, the march towards socialism. I need to thank you guys for turning the S-word into a Monty Pythonesqe comedy bit.

Six years later and the economy is still 'fragile'. Wow, great job.

On the economy:

Goldman (who screwed up their prediction for the 1st qtr so badly that it's laughable) is standing by their forecast for pretty robust growth this year. Many others agree.

My gut feeling is that the 'about as exciting as watching paint dry' recovery continues as-is for quite awhile. But that's not all bad. In fact, a growing economy without significant peaks and valleys is the holy grail for most economists. But let's hope for a little better growth, a lot more hiring and better wages.

LOL ... from calling for purges of the GOP's insufficiently faithful to self-purging ... all within a year or so ...

I look for that to have about as much success as that boycott of northern-based carriers ...

The economy continues to remain stagnant under Obama for obvious reasons. True unemployment and underemployment (the U-6 measurement) remains in double digits. Anyone who has been to a gas pump or grocery store knows that true inflation isn't anywhere near so low as the administration claims, and anyone with a basic understanding of economics knows that devaluation of the dollar - monetary inflation (4.9% last year - see article below) - has risen every year since the Fed began "quantitative easing" (buying bonds).

The nation is drowning in debt, and this will be exacerbated by the Fed's tapering effect as interest rates rise, and interest payments on the national debt rises accordingly. College students are saddled with an alarming amount of student loans that they'll never be able to pay off, even if they are someday able to find a decent job that pays a salary commensurate with their degree.

There's a reason that during the Obama reign we've suffered through the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression: his liberal policies and regulations stifle the growth of private business and it's ability to create jobs. If there is one figure that serves as an indicator of how well the country has fared under Obama, it's this:
When Obama took office in the first quarter of 2009, median weekly earnings for full-time wage and salary workers was $344. At that time, the median weekly earnings for men were $384 and the median weekly earnings for women were $304.
Thus, overall real median weekly earnings dropped by $11 between the first quarter of 2009 and the third quarter of 2013 (from $344 to $333). That is a real decline of 3.2 percent.

BLS: Real Wages Declined in 3rd Quarter; Down 3.2% Under Obama | CNS News

Contrast that with the Reagan recovery from 1982-1989:

"Real per-capita disposable income increased by 18% from 1982 to 1989, meaning the American standard of living increased by almost 20% in just seven years."

The DC article was from over a year ago. So the 'new' GDP measurement has been fully implemented. It was supposed to be more favorable, yet recorded a minus 2.9% growth. That is pathetic.

Ya think? I'd say that's a blinding glimpse of the obvious, considering the post was not-so-subtly accusing me and Muttly of being racists or favoring racism even though (1) the claims about McDaniels were based on unsubstantiated gossip articles and (2) I've never made a post on this or any other forum about Chris McDaniel. This is trolling, pure and simple. It would seem by now everyone should have read the sticky post from Dale at the beginning of the Soapbox forum which includes the following:
