You might want to read this article. Its long, full of graphs and other boring stuff, but stick with it and around page 4 it gets interesting...especially look at the eye topic and the prescription drug program...those are just 2 items, but the whole issue needs to be known, read it and if you feel ok with this program that is coming at us at a now accelerated rate because barry wants it before the summer is over..then sit back and do nothing. If you can see what is heading our way and think its not what we want or need, then maybe you might want to get active and get in touch with your elected reps on a regular basis, not just once, but ongoing until they get your point.

It doesn't make any difference what party you are in, what religion you are affiliated with or what you think about me , barry or anyone else, if you feel this is wrong, you need to get involved. If you need the contact info for any or all of your elected reps, PM me, i'll be happy to provide it for you..

If our nation was Utopia or Shangi-La then perhaps socialized medicine would be workable and make sense for our nation. As is, it will not work and will diminish the quality and availability of healthcare OR it will be great and just what we want it to be but so expensive it will bankrupt all of us. Agree or choose to be wrong.

Having lived in England for 5 years and having to use thier system I want to stay the way we are now. Besides, you can bet your butt that there will be NO open and free debate on this in Congress. You can bet your butt that there will be NO honest reporting in the news media and whatever garbage they end up cramming down our troats it will be by force, no way out of it. You will be FORCED to pay for it and through the nose too. For next to third world health care. But don't listen to me. I don't know anything, I make it all up.

It seems that Barry Just wants the Working Tax Payer to Pay for all of the Welfare Suckers who have been Bleeding the System all of their Lives Which Doesn't Surprise me One Bit! That is the idea!! The whole idea about socialism is to insure that a very few have a lot of money and nobody else has any. That is why they use a progressive imcome tax so you cannot get ahead. ENJOY!!! Change is here!!! It will come by force. There is NO other way for them to do it.

The likely debate will be whether they tax people directly for it, or hide the tax in carb, soda, liquor, airline, current cigarette taxes and the like. And that is just the latest ones I have heard to pay for this. The other debate of course will be that it is Bush's fault that everyone doesn't have healthcare and how they now have to fix it.

Those are the taxes that they are going to START with!! Just wait. That will not be the end, not by any means. Go online and check out the gas taxes in England, Norway and Germany. I was paying $4 dollars per gallon in 1976 in England. The idea is to control the people. Watch and see.

I'd really think that the cost of paying for it while important is secondary to the fact the the government will be deciding the care you will get not your doctor..they will decide even if you get treatment and when if you do...."yea you are going blind in both eyes, when you are totally blind in one eye, we can then treat the eye you have left.........wait, you are 68, nooo you just aren't going to be productive to repay for the cost...sorry, no treatment for you ...........

They are going to increase thier use of the taxes to further thier control over us!! Just look at what they want to tax. They have been using taxes as a form of social engineering and control for more years than I can remember, and yet, we continue to vote the same scum in year after year. You must be having a mental lapse if you voted for ANY imcumbent last election. If you vote for one in 2010 I won't use such a nice term.

When I posted this thread it was meant to show what was coming our way and that the people that didn't feel that this was what was in their best interest should become active and contact their elected reps...that was before the SC decision this evening....forget this thread, what we all knew are what was right and just for the people of our country and what we knew as constitutional and unconstitutional has died to night...nothing is binding anymore, then government , no the exc. branch of the government now can now control anything and anyone they want, and the high court has shown their willingness to go along with this admin...

This thread is worthless other then providing info...there is nothing that will change what this admin wants to do to the people of the country........

If i can offer one bit of advixe, buy more ammo, soon, real soon.....

That's not true tho... all illnesses aren't created equal under this plan, only the coverage. If you have something like MS, you will get limited coverage, because the next guy might need to be treated for alcoholism or AIDS.

Socialists, Marxists, Communists - whatever you want to call them - never practice what they preach. Perfect example are all the elitists in Congress who want this healthcare, but would never stand in line with the rest of us to get it themselves.

On the opposite side, capitalists usually practice what they preach. They preach the free market, and are active in it themselves.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Doug and Cal and a few others in here staunchly defending the deity in power and this ridiculously stupid healthcare idea. As mentioned, the biggest problem will be that Obama et al won't participate in it. If he wants the program then he needs to put himself and his family, Biden, Senate, Congress, SC and all their families to the third layer all on it for a minimum 24 month trial period. At that point we'll see how it's worked.

The Constitution of the EU is over 500 pages long and addresses everything but basic human rights and it is failing by all accounts with the swing to the right in the EU.

In contrast, the Canadian Constitution is also basically the same thing with it being something like over 200 pages long.

The Constitution of England is faltering under the obscene problems with everything from health care rights to rights of peers.

But the amazing thing is the US Constitution is still a viable form of self-governing for the individual, it is however a sheer work of genius at 11 pages.
