At the yard, just talked to John and like OVM said in a dedicated thread here the Big Blue Stripe is no longer for vans. It is still a go for straights which It does look good on. Getting my 2nd gen logos put on in the morning if I'm still here.

John is also having some money pits in the back lot dug out and replaced so be careful if going through there it is an obstacle course.

Thanks everyone. It's much appreciated.
If not for the sadness, we couldn't appreciate the gladness, when it comes - and it will, though not ever soon enough. My condolences and thoughts are with you.

You're welcome, John. Just said what I thought needed to be said.
And I think I need to apologize for causing such a ruckus - I should have known better. Those of you who have met me know I'm not the 'witch' I sometimes sound in writing - I can spell, but damif I can change the way it sounds when I get annoyed, and knowing that, I should take more time before I speak. I will try to think more, first. [No promises, just said I'll try, ok?;)]

Thank you for your concern. It's one of the things that set you and the Load 1 family apart.

Amen.

Who sayes its only cheap freight coming out of TX!!! Pam called had a run picking up in Laredo goin back to Chalfont PA...I took it, headed that way, Frankie called and said he was sending the info over the QC...while i was driving, the info came over...before i could stop to get it, Frankie was back on the phone, the run cancelled....So, I found the TA on 10 in San antonio and been here for the afternoon....

Joe just called...picking up in Eagle Pass delivering to Warren Mich.....and neither of them were cheap....one has to wonder with all the vans we know are normally in Laredo how I got that...Then now I am DH'in from San Antonio to Eagle Pass...

Got to love the Load 1 "Dispatch Magic'...:D

Well we are back in service. The funeral was yesterday. Outside the week we spent planning and dealing with the loss of our son 10 years ago, this was the hardest and longest weeks I have spent. My friend realized on Saturday that the showing for her son was on Mother's Day. When you are in shock and grieving there are a lotof things you lose track of.
Please continue to keep the Simon family in your prayers as they morn the loss of their son, and brother.

We both went back into service today, while at home in Delta, OH, got a load about 5pm to pick up in Topeka, IN to deliver at the yard, to head to Canada. We should be there about midnight.

Hopefully we can get our larger logos put on the truck tomorrw. We have been wanting to get them for a month now. Every little bit will help, in income. It has been extremely tight lately. We had 2 weeks that it cost us money to run. We have had extreme bad month and a half. Hoping it will pick up soon. Staying positive, is all we can do right now. If it doesn't pick up soon though, we will have to move all of our belongings to the yard and set up house in the lounge. Won't be able to pay the house payment soon if things don't pick up.

So we are praying dispatch can work some greatly needed magic this week.

Currently dodging horse buggies in Topeka, IN.

Tracy and Laura: really hoping it gets better soon, and I'm sure if it can be done, dispatch will do it.
My condolences on your loss - I know how it hurts, and only time can ease that kind of pain.

Guido, They actually call it "TOOBIN" here in Texas...but it is nothing more then floating down the river on a big ole truck inner tube...and they chagre big bucks to rent the tube, it is an industry onto itself...:D:rolleyes:

Floating down the Tickfaw river in Ms [with a group of friends, extra tubes for the coolers] was one of my favorite days ever, so I was happy to accept when a guy in Ohio invited me to go tubing. Then I found out it's a bit different when the tube is tied to the back of a powerboat [a Checkmate, no less], and the driver seems to think the goal is to kill the person on the tube...
It was a blast - I woke up looking for the truck that had hit me, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat - either way.:D

Have done both, and as for the 1st, i can imagine the results were the same, a great relaxing time and more "induced" relaxation from the contents of the coolers!!

And i know that truck very well!!!!

I cant swim, may float, as large as I am, but not sure of that, either...A bathtub gives me problems, even a kiddie pool..

And, fishing, well, I went with another driver freind of mine in Linden, Tn, and It was fun, from what I can remember..We loaded up the pickups, went driving through the backroads, then, all of a sudden, went off roading through the weeds, then through the woods, no road in sight, tree branches smacking the side of the truck, then, we come to a clearing in the woods next to the Tennesee river..The movie "Deliverance" came to my mind..Learned that not all holes in the ground are for fishing poles and for the pole to be stuck in..some are for snakes...And that not all of the 5 coolers brought with us were for bait, but 41/2 of them contained alcohol, including moonshine...Boy, did I get lit up!! What a day to remember!! And I never had a hangover the next day..The funny thing is, we never caught anything...So this is what fishing must be all about, I guess...

I apologize for not offering my condolences sooner. We have been traveling the same road and you're right, it's very easy to miss the signs. It was yesterday before I realized that my mom passed away on Mother's Day.

I'm still running partly on autopilot but please accept my belated condolences and pass them along to your friend.
