I used an innocuous word beginning in "f" and ending in "ing" in a post the other day. Perhaps gratuitously, but I can be a bit impulsive. The bad word got deleted. I got reprimanded and obtained 1 E.O. Naughty Point which I plan on cashing in at the E.O. Online catalog to buy Mrs. Jaminjim a T-shirt or coffee mug for her birthday.

Turtle posted a rather graphic, but humorous cartoon depiction of 2 penises that went very well with the original post of his. That disappeared.

A moderator posts his hopes of 219 members of congress dying within a week and that stands.

I hope the 219 are all dead within a week.

I believe something ain't ****** right with regards to protecting young and innocent eyes that read E.O.

Moot, Moot, Moot, it's a question of vulgarity. Penises, and what they do, are inherently vulgar, everyone with good breeding and high refinement knows this, especially truck drivers who think they aren't truck drivers. The line between the common, ordinary people and those of good taste is marked by feces of those who are so lofty and important, so snooty and snotty, they think they crap marble. Those who promote the deaths of 219 elected officials are not vulgar. These things are simply the right and proper thing to do, and as such could not possibly be in any way damaging to the many children who populate these forums.

It is kinda funny how some little thing bothers some and not others. Personal chemistry I guess. Me? It's all good. I feel sorry tho, for ALL the small children and family members that read here and are getting shorted by editing.

Yes, vulgarity is an opinion. For example, the undressed is vulgar, the nude is pure. But when I'm nekkid I am neither vulgar nor pure, I'm just scary.

"A system of morality which is based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, a thoroughly vulgar conception which has nothing sound in it and nothing true." - Socrates

"The need to be right is the sign of a vulgar mind." - Albert Camus

Nobody should post about killing someone, or hoping someone dies. As for swearing it is all on how the work is put when saying it. Like you could say " My ***** loves to drink her milk warm rather than cold". There are many things that people may think that are swear words that really are not. Like ***** is a cat, Dick is a person name. ***** is a female Dog. It's all about how its used. People sometimes use these words in a way that they become swear words.

It all depends on how they are used. Now I didn't swear one time in this post.

I don't have a problem with someone posting about them wishing that someone, or even 219 someones, should die, just as long as they apply those same justification standards to postings they don't necessarily agree with. It's not what was said, but rather the hypocrisy in handing out the censorship. If deleting dirty words and cartoon anatomies is done because it might harm the chill-drennnn, then the same reasoning should be applied to everything, including the verbalizations of Charles Bronson fantasies.

Look, wishing 219 congressmen dead is absurd on any level you choose, but it's an absurdity based in frustration, and most of us (at least the ones who have the ability to think for ourselves, you know, not Liberals) can understand that frustration. Even the most wacky of the wacky of FDR's stunts at least had some bipartisan support. This health care thing didn't have any bipartisan support at all. The only people who supported this were 219 people at the Capitol, and one guy at the White House. That's it. 220 people. It's a very troubling minority when compared to 300 odd million people their little power play affects, none of whom wanted this done in this manner.

So the frustration is understandable. I just hope and pray the chill-drennnn didn't see it. But they probably didn't see it. They were probably elsewhere on the Internet looking at porn.

You know Turtle, you brought up a good point.

When was the last time that we have had a vote that every one of the party members voted against a bill in the house?

I would think that someone who takes the time to post their opinion about issues here would be concerned about their credibility. How could someone that frequently says that people should be summarily shot, and he wishes people that he didn't agree with would die, expect to have any credibility? It sounds nothing like someone engaging in reasoned thought, but more like someone with deep seated rage from having to give his lunch money to bullies in elementary school. Blue humor and cuss words are a part of our society, so are people that are frustrated and a bit off the deep end. Clearly, we should be more concerned about the latter.

Don't forget he's from a place where you can plead guilty, not guilty, or he needed killin' at the arraignment. More often than not, the latter gets the case dismissed. :D

Moot, don't waste your time trying to cash in them naughty points,at one point I had 5 of them that I collected in a 3 day period and I couldn't even get an E.O. key fob for them.

I did however get a 6 month vacation from the site, not an all expenses paid vacation but a vacation none the less.

Maybe there needs to be a rule such as not being able to post in certain forums until a number of posts have been achieved. i.e. 100 posts until you can post in the flaming soapbox. Why? To prove your worthiness to the web site. Maybe forced to make meaningful contributions would lessen the amount of moderating needed here and the mods may even get to make more contributions.

People need to learn that this website is a service and a business, and in spite of the spirit of our constitutional freedoms, the owners do get to say no more if they feel the need for it.

I enjoy posting here, and after two years of reading I decided to join. I can read, write, ans speak, and once in a while may have something meaningful to say. There are many intelligent people posting here, and who knows how many more that haven't joined because they just don't feel like been aggravated by some members that have nothing better to do than criticize others for their views and opinions. I joined to contribute not just my political preferences as limited as they may be, but to add knowledge to those that are new, and possibly even add wisdom to the old timers here. Who cares if I want to vote for a pink elephant wearing purple leotards that proclaims peanuts will be subsidized by your local zoo? People are surely entitled to post valid and innoffensive opinions without preying on the gullible, but my points goes back to the aformentioned intent: post in your favorite section and as much as you want, but make a valid contribution! Some will actually benefit from this, even some old timers.

Interesting...
How's that mattress search comin' for ya?

Found nothing yet. Looking for a Mootbed, but don't have enough info on it. Sent Moot a PM but have yet to hear. Then there was that other one that was fabricated from that IKEA piece that folded down across the width of the sleeper, but I probably won't be able to look into it substantially until my next home time. Still sleeping on an inflatable. Not what I want, but it's what will have to do for now, I guess.

I slept on an inflatable for a long time. It sucks, but it's better than the hard deck. I went through about 1 a month, either from it getting wore out from being inflated/deflated daily, or because I'd get a hole in it.

Posting messages to someone's Profile Page isn't the same as a PM, as everyone can read it when it's on the Profile Page. ;)
