I agree to an extent. I cannot believe the rank-and-file Democrat buys into this nonsense. This attempt to normalize aberrant behaviors comes from the Radical Left. It's the same crowd who would have us believe two men living together is marriage. The overreach by the Radical Left is astonishing. Does it bother ordinary Democrats that the President of the United States gives hearty approval to such perversions? We have a president dangerously detached from reality.

There is no she to wish happiness or unhappiness upon. There is a he, Bruce Jenner, that is now choosing to pretend to be female. I don't wish Jenner anything negative but I certainly don't believe in what he is doing and don't believe him in any way special or deserving of any awards for courage. He also isn't in any way properly called she. That is an insult to all women of the XX persuasion.

It does take a lot to come out as being transgender. There is a great deal of hatred toward them and it is a risky thing. Look at the personal attacks and amount of people that are publicly announcing that Bruce is a still a man. If he wants to live as a woman then let him.
I personally don't think a transgender person is the sex that they want to be because biology is really clear on the matter. I have no issue with them living life as whatever sex they choose though. They can even ask that I refer to them as female or male depending on the case and I will do so out of respect. If they demand that I refer to them as their chosen sex then I will have an issue.
That JimBob Duggar doesn't see molestation as "unusual or cause for concern" is appalling. Even more so that "Most of our friends in church said their sons did it too" doesn't raise a red flag regarding the education those kids are getting. And these people are held up as role models?!
Arthur Ashe died of AIDS. So the award winner having a physical illness wouldn't be much different than the person it was named after. It is not a requirement though. Most athletes have to deal with adversity. That is a part of playing any sport. An athlete having to deal with and sometimes overcoming a serious illness is a bigger obstacle.

Sorry, Aristotle, it's the evangelical conservatives who are detached from reality. It doesn't bother "ordinary Democrats" [or ordinary Republicans, much, either] because they don't consider homosexuality to be a perversion. Nor do they have a problem with two men [or women] being married. Marriage is a man made concept, and what is man made can be changed by man, including the definition of marriage. The concept itself, of two persons wishing to vow fidelity to each other doesn't change - but it doesn't require that one person be male and the other female, either.
If the sacred nature of marriage is so important to some, why have they never made a big deal over preventing divorce?
