I totally agree if, you choose to follow the herd, drive a over priced cookie cutter truck and be a Contractor. However, I was pretty partial to 1-3 skids or more that paid $2.50-$4.00 per mile X 2 or 3. Just a different business model is all.

Believe I,d still look at a CO Argosy with a 110", nice condo and can still place a 30 footer on her and haul something........just food for figgur'in y'all. She'd be a money maker if ya had a good load finder

I have followed this thread with some interest because the subject of experimentation and innovation in this business. After all, it is a moving target. Soo, i'll say that many reading this are a product of their experiences and also a product of the quality/knowledge of their dispatch staff...

Just finished Duluth to Portland and a really nice Amtrak ride back to MN, then a Duluth to Delaware and a Amtrak ride home with a bunch of Newyakkers. Sad

I usually had a bit of fun dealing with the slackers in shipping/receiving. As the Carrier driving the truck I had no problem going upstairs and suggesting to the Honcho that he had trucks stacking up and dock folks eating donuts. I think more than a few went down the road.

Just finished a whale of sorts, Duluth, Mn to Riveria Beach, Fl. 1800 + miles, $.67 mi, fuel paid....just drive. Kinda nice to be saddled up again for a while

I use a 5 k Generac I found at Bass Pro. Been on the Camper for many years. In fact I used the same unit later for a couple of trucks.
