    Pickup expediter

See a lot of those hotshotters down along the gulf states. We did quite a bit of it out of Houston using just a pickup or pulling a gooseneck. Very competitive with most freight being oil related.

Oil at $150 by 4th of July

    Suran Wrap and Foil

Didn't know this? When I read this, I went in the kitchen and checked the box. All these years and I never noticed. Duh! Someone sent this to me and I just checked. This is true. Look on the ends of all your foil, etc., wrap boxes and you will find a tab that keeps your foil...

    Mistakes you have made?

Tough question? Biggest mistake was starting as a fleet owner while involved with another career at the same time. Lots of mistakes from not keeping my eye on the eight ball. Best thing that i did at that time? Held on to that other career. Would have done things somewhat differently if...

    Panthers 1st outs stink

I agree. The middle of MI is not exactly the hot bed for cargo van freight. Most of the boards in MI with high load counts are over by GR or Detroit.

Don't be a stranger. Always enjoyed some of that Colonel wisdom. Have a great retirement.

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

It would depend on how much the decent paying customer ships. One could go broke with either one, it would just depend on how fast. Looks like the rest of it is confirmed in another post. Pretty much a mirror as to what I said earlier...

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

Steve That would almost seem like a dangerous marketing/operating plan. What I mean is, they are using their best customers that pay a fair rate, to subsidize the ones that won't? Maybe I am not quite understanding it? It would seem to leave a very large vulnerability with their best...

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

Fastrod I would like to know as well. Maybe Phil knows a secret we don't? Based on conversations and posts right here at EO, they had an option to opt out of the program and they would give you 62 percent of the FSC. Not sure if they do that now or not, but at the time it certainly told me...

    Driving for a Fleet Owner

Could be quite costly under certain circumstances. We are usually available 24/7 May not be the same person that answers the phone all of the time, but always available. Even more so with someone new, "the dumbest questions are the ones that aren't asked".

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

I would say 2.10 average for a dry van is very reasonable as well.

    Im near Boston

It is a much better place to park. Away from the crowd and all the madness at the J and TA in Hutchins. Way too many crack queens and idiots to park there for any length of time. Much better food and accomodations in a whole lot of other places. Even the Petro out in Weatherford is better...

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

Since I am not at Fedex and only doing a occassional load for them, it would be unfair for me to comment on what they do with their contractors. Broker loads are done differently. I don't think you know either way since you don't see the customers actual bill. Or, do they provide you with a...

    Im near Boston

We had a truck unload over the weekend and said the same thing. We went out to Rockwall and got a load out of Garland to Chicago last night. Looks like we are escaping that area at the right time.

It would appear you got a load out of Boston or thereabouts?

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

We were told that no the rates have not been lowered. So we asked why the total per mile was the same even tho the FSC was so much higher and .......?........ were told if we did not like it well you know the rest.. ============================== Linder, Ummm???? I think that said more than...

    Driving for a Fleet Owner

Marvin, Kevin, or whatever Since you are making big assumptions about fleet owners, are we to assume (you know what they say) that you have the same opinion of drivers?

What I really think of FDCC

In this case it is two. But....I think this will be a ongoing issue for all carriers for some time to come depending on the economy and fuel prices.
