    Understanding the Load Opportunity

Chances would be good. If I lost drivers as a result of it, then I would see little reason to stay. That would apply to any carrier. You won't see me defending the absurd.

    Understanding the Load Opportunity

I don't know if it is wrong or not? Only going by what is posted. Could be the greatest thing since sliced bread. But, have read enough to see I wouldn't want Panther adopting anything like that. I don't think I mis-spun anything. I am only reading what is posted here. But keeping a open...

How to cover cost of new driver?

You really don't. It is a assumed risk. Costs will vary though depending on where the team is coming from and where the equipment is located. Cost could be well under $800, or above depending on those factors and what you agree to. For us, we give them a truck with full fuel from orientation...

    Understanding the Load Opportunity

Just a outsider looking in, that whole system looks like a mess. Everything from fielding load offers on one phone and having to call on another, to fielding calls on loads all the time that one would never run. One would have thought to have tried it on a handful of trucks verses a whole...

    Panther is not Military friendly

Might want to promote that thought at E1 With regards to Panther, as mentioned, it doesn't count against you in run selection or dispatching. It is used for the purpose of availability if someone is complaining they aren't getting their projected revenue. If someone is doing military...

NEWS Flash FEDEX CC Tractor Trailer spoted in Catcus Land Fill in Phoenix AZ

Hey, At least you can say you were a $60.00 sanitation engineer for a day. It sounds like that is a group all by itself.

NEWS Flash FEDEX CC Tractor Trailer spoted in Catcus Land Fill in Phoenix AZ

Ummm???? Don't think I would even consider taking a straight, van or anything else to a landfill for $60.00

    FedEx

Most of it is price driven. It would only be common sense that three pallet loads could go to a sprinter because of a cheaper rate. Most load boards clearly identify that. Customers that are price sensitive is where you will see this. As far as T/S vs the Fed, I think you made the right call...

I think I have become cross-eyed after reading this thread.

    Exxon Record Profits

Their margin of profit is small by comparison to other industries. They only represent 3 percent of the world oil supply which is a dot. Real simple solution. Don't like it, invest in Exxon. Dividends have been clicking on a good number for several years. If one invested when Enron tanked...

    FedEx

Wow, After wading through all the madness, there actually is some useful information out of all this. What I see out of this is the following. Sprinters are taking some of the "C" loads IF, there isn't a dock requirement. Without a doubt. The rate is cheaper. No real surprise there. As...

    FedEx

If solo, go somewhere that has no qual-comm or run your own authority. Or, find somewhere where you can book your own freight. Last I heard at the expo, there is a freeze on putting on any WG trucks and there is a deep list to get in. Take Linder's advice and get it in writing.

    Confounded by Big Cat Giveaways

No real surprise as I watch their broker board. I just don't see it in huge numbers. Runs that are double are usually where they don't have the coverage. I don't see it that often if trucks are in the area. Does happen though.

    Confounded by Big Cat Giveaways

After reading this thread, it probably is necessary to point out a few items. With regards to the council, they have done a great job for something of a voluntary nature. They aren't the decision makers, but convey the needs and expectations of the contractors. I beleive they are workng on a new...

So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Good-Bye

I can't think over the years of a person who I have used more for referals than Terry. Especially any questions regarding the van business. A real credit to EO and the industry. Your posts on the forum will be missed, but look forward to many great years of continued friendship with you and...

I will be at the Expo!

I'm not sure I could say anything DraganLady didn't say. The door was opened with all this "I'm a carrier" and merger bs. Many of the EO folks have been around for awhile. It isn't likely you will see something posted that one wouldn't tell you in person. I as well will be at the expo. Look...
