    The Changing Economics of Expediting

If I was paying only 40 percent to the driver, I would have a lot left over to pay 100 dollars and hotel a day while a USED truck is in the shop. I can't figure out how the guy (fleet owner) does all the maintenance? Hard to believe he is right there at everyones house when they are on...

    Im near Boston

I would go do whatever and not worry about board position if there are only three trucks there. For the aount of loads they do out of there I don't think it would matter.

Or......you are wide awake sitting somewhere like Chicago and they send you numerous offers at the same time and you wind up accepting the wrong one:eek:

    Reefer Relocation Charge

Dave, I think many are in the same boat. We are seeing a steady increase in our overall rates from Panther, but that difference for the most part ends up in the fuel tanks. The good news is, up to this point, they seem to be keeping up. It looks as if the Fed is doing the same.

    Reefer Relocation Charge

No problem. It is expediting. Anything can happen....the good to great, and the stuff that totally ticks you off. Soon.....I will have a truck repair saga I will post about that falls into the latter thought.

    Reefer Relocation Charge

Steve.......I said " hoped he got 2.45 for all miles" Please reread my earlier post. I didn't say anywhere whether he needed it or didn't. Just a clarification of his post as to what he thought his average was.

    A dumb reefer question

For humidity control. Tend to see them on the produce hauling trailers. Or.....so cargo coming up from the border can breath.

    update from ctx post

Jim, I think you may have misunderstood my post. I don't have an opinion on them one way or the other, other than a reduction in their rates. If that is accurate (their site states .70CPM for vans), then I think that is somewhat of an industry issue. My opinion at running a van for .70 CPM is...

    update from ctx post

The biggest difference is that Panther has honored their existing contracts including drivers that came over from Conway. They didn't cut the rate of an existing contractor regardless of what their rate is. They have had a change in rates several times, but that was for new trucks signing on...

    My trucks have been busy.

I think Hawk is right. You just have to get your feet wet at some point. Some...myself included would be reluctant to provide names of specific brokers unless I have known that person for some time. The biggest reason is if you recommend someone and they have a relationship that goes south...

    My trucks have been busy.

Doing some research on this site will give you a lot of basic information to see if it is right for you. There are many approaches to doing this, so there isn't just a one way path. In this day and age, I don't think there is really any secrets as you will find. Most of it is making the...

    Very Disappointing numbers

After all that, are folks now to assume that they can add a WG truck with all that new business? Might be of value or benefit to current operators that have been on a waiting list for quite some time. If not, why promote something that no one can get in?
