    New Business Need Help

Couldn't begin to put all that information into one post. Wouldn't it have been a good idea to know all that PRIOR to buying two trucks or leaving a carrier?

    Owner or driver webb

Turtle, I am behind the times on the drivers web. I should go visit that more than I do. With regard to backhauls, we really haven't changed anything. Directional moves are much easier in a ST or TT than they are in a van. The backhauls that we do would be to areas where I know they will be...

Panther Owner starts a Lease to Own program

I have heard that on more than one occasion. "Cash is King". Either pay cash, drive for someone, or obtain financing from a external reliable source. If those aren't available, stay out of the business. Moot's quote says it best.

    tryed to backhaul friday

Simple solution. Don't take the 1.10 loads. It would only be a violation of a contract if they FORCED you to take it. We have never been forced to take a reduced rate load.

    Owner or driver webb

Not sure on the drivers as I don't look at that. On the owners it doesn't work either, but is a duplicate of the "fleet payables". That tab is at the bottom. Same information is on that.

    What would you do?????????

EO certainly isn't the place for this kind of madness.

    Tonight's Healthcare Speech.....

I listened to it tonight and I heard nothing really different than we have heard before. Nancy wants the public option and it looks like he supports that. I am still surprised he is beating the drum of having this public option, only to be followed by, "it won't cost the government a thing"...

    Cat 7 motors

There are many posts in the archives on both. For me the C7 is way ahead of a small MB motor.

    buisness model

A truck with that mileage is too high. 100 hours of idle time per week is too low. Even at that number you idle costs will exceed another 1000 plus per month. Gallon per hour x 2.50 per gallon x 4 wks. Big assumption on the mileage. Only ten percent or so of expediters consistently run at...

    What would you do?????????

Drinking and texting are quickly becoming synonymous. But...not everywhere. Depends on the state. With that aside, liability starts to spread the minute the carrier or the owner are aware of the circumstances. And even then, it may be a bumpy road depending on what was known and when. Simply...

    What would you do?????????

Same plan, and no changes. Time to party, and a time not to. Just no exceptions on something like this. Kill someone, and the variables just don't matter.

    What would you do?????????

This is one of those "never assume something". As a fleet owner, you are not there. You can't direct the truck in any fashion because you could have a liability issue with the primary driver. Shut the truck down, call safety and schedule a drug/alcohol test in which the primary would drive to...

Gov Motors to bulit Trucks in CHINA

Golly gee. Who could've seen that coming? Obama bails them out with 18 billion only to have them a few months later investing millions in China. Should be within the next month or two we will hear about Chryslers new overseas investments.

    Another Carrier APU Quandry

If you are in OH, I would recommend taking it to TSI. They do pretty good work on the PH's

    Another Carrier APU Quandry

Actually it wouldn't. Two red wires going to the battery doesn't sound correct. Our unit has a red and black going there. Two red wires doesn't sound right. What place worked on this? You could have just one red wire if they grounded the unit to the chassis.

    Another Carrier APU Quandry

As stupid as it sounds, I believe they have the wires backwards on the batteries.

    The end is near....

Where are you sitting that it is 57? Outside of that, pretty busy month so far. Can't complain a bit.

    Another Carrier APU Quandry

As Greg mentioned, it could be the regulator. With the generator running, turn on the truck but don't start the engine. If you have over 14V going to the batteries, it is a regulator, or a bad ground. The other option is to but a meter on it to see the voltage. A bad ground could as well be...
