    air compressor

Could be a compressor, but not likely if it builds pressure. If it is a bad governor (easy fix), it will discharge continously When was the last time you had the dryer cartridge changed? How much water is in the tanks? Too much water and the dryer valve won't open. Lastly, if it fails to...

    Any loads out of atlanta?

Sounds like a convention. I'm not with the Fed, so just based on freight volumes, Atlanta or maybe Birmingham could be a option? Anything else would be north of that or over by the Carolinas. Maybe someone at the Fed has some advice?

    Insurance savings

We shop our coverage once a year. So far, CIS hasn't been the cheapest, but they offer the best coverage for the price. We are happy with our coverage and service. My advise would be to fax them your currently policy and see how it compares. Not all coverages and policies are the same.

    Any loads out of atlanta?

Might depend on the carrier and vehicle type. Might want to consider actually moving to Atlanta. If you are in Columbus, you are still a little over 100 miles out.

Can't take your call at this time!!

sweetcdngirl Both Jamin and Pelicn have it right. We are fleet owners with only one van. That van is a exclusive mall/Wal-mart hauler for the wife. :D You are taking my post as defending Panther and that is ok, but not the motive for it. I am addressing your complaint/concern so you don't...

Can't take your call at this time!!

I don't know why you would wait 45 minutes on hold to tell them about a accident unless your in it.. If everyone on that freeway was to call with the same thing, they now have a dedicated person just to take those calls on something they likely know at that point. Send it on the QC and forget...

    A Question for Cops

I see a stampede of lawsuits the minute someone is terminated using that criteria and thee isn't a vehicle for correction. Or maybe there is? Maybe driver training courses? Of course, for a fee. I really need to get more educated on the ins and outs of this.

Haz Mat endorsement: is it worth having on your CDL?

I don't hire without one. If one can't invest that little in their profession, what would be the point in considering them? If there in a van, then it wouldn't matter as much.

    A Question for Cops

That is why I think it has the makings of a cash grab. State writes a violation for the turn signal infraction, and off you go to the county court to pay big bucks to get the infraction points removed. Enough cash on the table will make those points disappear. Not seeing it as any benefit for...

    CSA2010 & the Maxican trucks.

Why do I get a funny feeling we will be giving millions to Mexico so they can participate in this?

    A Question for Cops

I am just in the infancy of trying to figure it all out and how states will comply. Probably turn into another cash grab for some states. But I see it as a double edge sword. Drivers will have to be more aggressive in combating any infractions because that safety rating will affect employment...

    New Jersey mandates snow-free vehicles

Out of wotk for over a month now.

Certainly hope that all works out. Sounds like a mess. You certainly give pause for thought when you compare your situation to a new government run healthcare system.

The Downfall of Bentz Transport Products, Inc.

It would be hard to see the logic in buying a 150/200k reefer truck at this time. For the ones that run a used one, they should still be ok. Back in the day, we took quite a few and converted them to flatbed tow trucks and resold them.

The Downfall of Bentz Transport Products, Inc.

Just a observation of the subject DD not the author. Don't read something into it that was never there. I didn't comment on the article itself either way. As Jamin says"stop trying so hard to be offended"

I think most of this was covered back in July/August. Kinda old news at this point.

Bolt express is a freaking joke...ruining our business

I think many of the carriers that do NLM are doing that. I have to admit, that 40 some cents a mile for a van is pretty cheap. Might want to haul a few at a time. At that rate I wouldn't be worried about any exclusivity.

Bolt express is a freaking joke...ruining our business

I'm confused? Are they trading loads, or just offering you the NLM loads at 40/45 cents? They may be just bidding on everything?

A fond fare well to Tri-State

I think they all vary. We are on a flat rate but our rate stays the same. Every so often we get a reduced rate load offer that we sometimes take and sometimes not, but ours stays pretty consistent except for Elite jobs. The difference there is it is always higher than our standard milage rate...
