It would be hard to see the logic in buying a 150/200k reefer truck at this time. For the ones that run a used one, they should still be ok. Back in the day, we took quite a few and converted them to flatbed tow trucks and resold them.

I think many of the carriers that do NLM are doing that. I have to admit, that 40 some cents a mile for a van is pretty cheap. Might want to haul a few at a time. At that rate I wouldn't be worried about any exclusivity.

I think they all vary. We are on a flat rate but our rate stays the same. Every so often we get a reduced rate load offer that we sometimes take and sometimes not, but ours stays pretty consistent except for Elite jobs. The difference there is it is always higher than our standard milage rate...
