I think your attoney advised you correctly in not signing that provision. Even more so if you are a existing contractor. One may be better served to insure outside of the carrier to ensure there is no conflict of interest.

Let me clarify. That is not what I would consider a industry standard average. Is that amount collected at times? Absolutely. But I will say, probably won't see that number on the auto freight side of things. The 400 Greg was talking about was likely something other than auto freight.

Hard to tell but worth checking. If no codes are on the display, then it could be sensor, fuel switch, fuel pump, or wires/fuses at the panel. After that, I would take it to a carrier dealer if you aren't familiar with working on them and covered the items on the troubleshooting in the manual...

I believe most justify it because they handle the collection part of it. In most cases, the driver gets a tiny fraction of what is actually collected on those services. Many get nothing at all. Maybe they consider those fees theirs for babysitting costs? A carrier that tells you otherwise is...

There is a partial solution. Just simple transparency from the carrier to the shipper. The rest of it will take care of itself.

You could use a rigmaster but I would likely short belt it and remove the internal AC components. I have seen a couple set up that way. We have used truckgens (basically a direct drive Kabota) and Onans.
