    Misplaced Priorities

They aren't the same. The Obama administration would say Mexicans are US citizens.

cat 3126b fuel in oil ? sucks

On that engine it is a injector seal or the injector tube. Injector by itself may be fine. Shouldn't be too bad of repair if either is the issue.

    Ever think of Incorporating

Greg would be correct. Setting up a corporation doesn't protect or shield your personal assets. It adds a layer for a attorney to go through, but that is it.

    Escrow

Seems like a lot of speculation. Not even sure if there is a written contract involved?

    Questions for fleet owners/drivers

Think your right on trying to double load a sprinter with a sleeper. Seems to be a very tall order. May be doable with the ones that have no sleeper and can haul four pallets. Double dipping is much easier with a straight or tractor.

Well known Expediter Truck For Sale

Congrats on the soon to be arriving ride. Maybe want to hang on to your current one for a spare. One never knows. You should hit up the Fed for big money and use it in their booth.:D

DOD Loads & Clearance - FedEx % of loads hauled?

We run quite a bit of DOD loads. If the origin is actually the Fed, then the rates have increased. Most related to the FSC. Government/Defense contractors are all over the place. Some paying exceptionally well while others tend to be on the cheap side. With regard to clearances, you likely...

Setting up a shipment with a carrier.

Probably not. That is why you now have so many companies. They will do what they can to benefit from any short comings the larger carriers may have. Just have to look around.

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

I wouldn't worry too much. It is one the craziest Fedex threads in quite some time. "Kinda like the olden days".

Questions for those operating under their own authority

If you have the capital and a good six months to get it off the ground, the rest of it isn't too bad. The typical dreaded parts we let the carrier do. We give up 15 percent but that covers collections, audits, drug tests, logs and much of the paperwork. Doing it ourselves would be roughly 10...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Based on past IRS dealings, if one stays close to the vest on the IRS independent contractor guidelines, you shouldn't have any problem. Anything can be challenged and has, but few in the trucking industry unless it is flagrant have ever been turned over as employees and it is actually...

Question for carriers & fleet owners

Unless it is a dedicated same route deal, I think I would pass. Why? Too many scheduling conflicts, who is gone too long or not enough, each blaming the other for mechanical issues and the list goes on. Sounds like one would be more involved in counseling sessions rather than anything else.

    Carrier behaving badly

You would be amazed how many "ghost riders" there are out there.

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

I would agree with Dale in that you essentially breached your agreement. Pretty much gives them the right to cancel your contract. Even easier if you are driving a van where there is one on every corner. I agree also that you might want to consider a local gig with a new baby to contend with...

    Truth In Advertising & Posting?

Some that do the bait and switch are percentage companies and others will say they pay say 1.20 per mile for straight but if they are a "preferred customer" then it is 1.12 per mile. Bottom line is the majority of their customers are "preferred". Just basic game playing.

Insanity! U.S. to Pay for EOBRs on Mexican Trucks

Oh it happens and some even try to defend it.

    Truth In Advertising & Posting?

That would be my take. I still find it funny that some carriers can't even publish their rates unless you call. That is a buyer beware when I see that.
