Worth a look. The dealer I was talking to is listed on this site.

    Caffee's Cascadia

I have read several articles with drivers cutting the DEF with water to drop the cost. I believe it was both Freightliner and International that are trying to find a fix as this method was tricking the engine sensors. At the end of the day through higher prices and constant bs with truck...

Please keep in mind that they are not the only carrier that engages in that practice. They won't pay their own that higher rate for fear it will start higher requests for loads from their own contractors. Been that way for quite some time. It can be beneficial depending on what side of the curve...

    FSC what is the deal

With your "program" you get 100 percent of whatever they decide to give you. Anything that is a flat rate pretty much falls into that "program".

    Factoring

The above would be the correct answer. It is obviously smaller carriers that engage in using a factoring company but that exclusively wouldn't determine how stable they are. Most try to get enough behind them as to not have to do it. Takes awhile for smaller carriers to reach that threshold.

    FSC what is the deal

I am sure that is part of why Panther made the changes they did to stay ahead of the curve. Now they are paying the total fuel bill on any move to get a load without giving up the first 50, 100 miles or whatever. Anything of course could be negotiated above that, but this new program is now the...

I won't comment on what the Fed does internally, but I can say they will use outside carriers at a higher price than what they pay their own contractors. Took some awhile to finally realize that. The wonderful world of information sharing. On a side note, they aren't the only carrier that...

Probably would depend on where your loads are coming from. Some do ok and others just go broke.

    Friendly Warning on Fleet

Thanks for the clarification. Those are the problem posts where no one knows who is right and the wronged party wants to automatically sue.

    Friendly Warning on Fleet

Bingo. You put names up and the post will disappear. Again, no patience to do investigations to determine who may or may not be right for the sake of leaving a post up.

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

True. But just like most unions, they consider that part of their compensation package regardless of the origin of the payment check.

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

I would wonder of the 45 percent who don't pay anything are actually collecting something in the form of a benefit from the Fed?

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

As I said, I think there does need to be some type of compassion clause for the truely needed. I don't think we are a country that would throw those people "under the bus". Everyone else should provide some form of labor in my opinion for those benefits. Same with unemployment. They should...

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

With so many states in trouble financially, I think it supports the thinking of having people work for their welfare checks unless they have a physical limitation. I would be of the thinking that the costs of welfare would drop in half.
