    Ford 6.0 Diesel

I would steer clear of any 6.0, especially if my livelihood was dependant on it.

Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

No. That circuit breaker is probably powering the liftgate. You don't have to do anything special at all. Oh, near the battery box there should be a small receptacle cover. That's for the block heater. It should be equipped with one. Just open the cover and plug an extension cord into it.

I find it's easier to maneuver the batteries in place with the step out of the way. That hold down bracket comes out easily once the front and rear bolts are removed. Is there a particular reason you want to add a third battery? Unless it's extremely cold where you live, I wouldn't think it's...

Dang. Can you post pics of the board, front and rear? Maybe it has a broken trace or something.

Excellent, I'm sure many people will be interested to see it! Jideco makes some of the VNT controllers. Maybe all of them. There are three or four different versions, depending on year.

2 batteries, 700 cca each, threaded stud, 31 series. Room exists for a third. These are AGM batteries,, the electrolyte is soaked into glass matting, making them leak and vibration resistant. They are branded as Merit. I don't know the manufacturer. They are 10 times better than the...

So a horror story just rolled into the shop...

We have a forklift, we can lift it up enough to weld it properly. Hino has good guidelines on how to do this stuff correctly. We've been doing frame work like this for quite a while.

So a horror story just rolled into the shop...

Yep. We sold them the truck, but we don't have the means to install a body that large. The customer found this low-bid shop to install the body. We need to purchase some sort of body lifting apparatus.

Nothing has been done to the welds or frame yet. The truck is parked, waiting on various people to make decisions.

I said the same thing when I realized that "*******s" is in the swear filter. Y'all really limiting some fine cuss words. But seriously, I don't even know what the plan is at this point. It's not leaving here until that's fixed, but there are some clear obstacles to repairing it correctly.

Here's a brand new truck that rolled in. 250 miles. The body had just been "installed" by a "body company". My job was to get the lights working. But this crack was the first thing I saw. http://i.imgur.com/SPJQObK.jpg They had put the body on the chassis, then decided to weld on the...

    Cat 3126 dies at idle

In that case, someone with CAT software needs to hook up to it and see if it has an idle timer activated. It should be pretty simple to turn that off. I'm assuming it's that easy, anyway.

Thankfully no. It's supposed to warm up a bit next week.

What would cause a Sprinter to vibrate while idling?

If it's a problem that can be narrowed down to a single cylinder, the injector could be the culprit. Replacing an injector is easy enough, but they aren't inexpensive. If it's a mechanical problem, e.g. liner scuff, burnt valve, whatever, then it will be nightmarish. Your symptoms don't point...

What would cause a Sprinter to vibrate while idling?

A weak cylinder could cause the symptoms you're describing. Pronounced vibration at idle, smooths out as engine rpm increases. Is it down on power? Has oil consumption increased? Is the crankcase under excessive pressure? Like, if you take the oil cap off while it's running, does air rush...

    Cat 3126 dies at idle

Some people have a really hard time understanding electrical circuits. Does it simply shut off like the key was turned off, or does it slow down and sputter and die? How does it behave when it restarts? Will it restart immediately, or do you have to crank it for a while?

    Cat 3126 dies at idle

I work at a diesel shop. We don't specialize in CAT. We don't have CAT specific software. Those GMC Topkicks or Kodiaks or whatever they're called often don't have the round connector that most trucks have, they have the 19(?) pin DLC connector that cars have. They don't run on an OBDII...
