Need more mechanical advice, Sprinter losing power

I've seen mass airflow sensors cause dumb stuff like that.

Price for a Sprinter van EGR valve replacement?

Has the turbo been barfing oil into the intake? This can cause them to get stuck.

Need more mechanical advice, Sprinter losing power

Yes, there's a resonator in the intake piping (I forget which years had it) that can split at the seams. There's a host of other things that can cause low power. Did the check engine light come on? What codes did they pull?

Hi there. This is generally one of two things. Your injectors could be going south. Because you have a dpf, bad injectors can't be ignored for long. Eventually excess soot will cause the dpf to overheat during regens, causing it to fail. It's expensive. Second cause: The intake throttle...

    Thermo king

Exhaust fumes? Probably. I don't know about the newest systems, but all of the older self powered ones had three cylinder diesels running just a muffler with no aftertreatment and they had simple inline injection pumps. Smoke and smells are normal. Now, if this thing has a plume of black...

That's rare. A good portion of new customers that show up at our shop with a truck they bought elsewhere have a ton of questions that were never answered at the time of purchase. I'd let it run low then refill it. For the life of me, I can't remember which brand we use.

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. The ones we've sold basically come in for PMs, and that's it. Very few problems. That's actually a bit of a problem. Since nothing ever breaks, no one gets good at fixing them. Haha! The only one we've had any real problems with had gone for a swim. The...

Hi Ron, I just browsed through the accessory catalog, and it doesn't look like they have much for the cabover trucks at all. There's all sorts of crap available to stick on a conventional. I know they don't offer a locking DEF tank cap. I know this has been addressed, but nothing available...

Generally this is caused by failure of the pickup in the def tank, or the urea dosing unit.

A 2012 has a leaking rocker box? That's unusual. Gimme a minute. Edit: You're gonna need a whole lot more on your shopping list than two gaskets. Read through this thread and find my dire warnings about the fuel return piping under the valve cover. If you take the rocker box off, you...

    Continuous DEF Problems with Sprinters

The thing about DEF is that it degrades quickly if it's stored in a warm environment. The big containers might take a while to get emptied, so if it sits out in the sunlight for a month it's not really advisable to use. Better to buy it in small quantities and not let it hang around for very...

If you find one, let me know! What year is your truck again? Some older conventionals had a large tube on the side of the condenser with a cap on the bottom. The desiccant bag sat inside this tube. The tube served as the receiver drier.

Never had one apart that far. It's probably gonna suck. Have fun! Edit: I imagine a number of the bolts are captive in the heater box, and are removed from the engine side of the firewall. You're probably going to need to recover the refrigerant and remove the evaporator at the same time...

7 SPEED SPICER PROBLEMS ****** CONTACT ME *****

I have not been inside a 7 speed spicer, buuuut... If you take the top cover off (which may be very difficult if there's not an access panel on the cab floor), you will expose all of the Selector rails and shift forks. You'll also see all of the sliding gear collars in the transmission. Each...

fl70 rear gear advice needed please

Roger that. It sounds like the 5.86 gearset will be on par with what is considered normal. If I could find a graph of his engines torque/horsepower, I might possibly be able to justify going to the 5.29 gearset. I'd hate to tell him that it'll work but have the thing downshift whenever the...
