All the advice I can offer you at the moment is to buy clean fuel,keep it clean, don't be afraid to change fuel filters on an abbreviated schedule, have the valves adjusted by someone who knows what they're doing, and have the fuel injectors evaluated. Replace any that are marginal.

It's supposed to compress until the governor (on air dryer) unloads it, then the air dryer will pop, followed by about 20 sec of small air purge then stop. If you can tug on thst hose and get a couple inches of slack, put a new compression fitting on it. Don't overtighten it.
