Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

Thanks, I appreciate that. The irony of the second pic is that it's on a truck that blew up. It lost a wrist pin bushing. A narrow serial number range had improperly sized bushings from the factory. This one made it to 250k miles. Covered under warranty.

    Syrian refugees

I'm not worried about refugees much at all. The scum will make it here one way or another if they're motivated. The innocent people just want to gtfo of dodge and find somewhere peaceful to live.

It's supposed to be a drop-in cartridge type with a clear plastic housing. This spin-on pictured is for a Cummins and doesn't have the proper micron rating. A high efficiency, low micron count is essential for keeping water out of the injectors. This is the correct setup. Imgur: The most...

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet If you are looking at buying a Hino and see this, run far, far away. This improper fuel filter wiped out a set of injectors, taking the suction control valve and dpf with it.

    Merritor front air brakes

If there's no s-cam play, you can ignore the cam seals. If there is, replace the s-cam bushings and seals at the same time. The outer seal is installed backwards on purpose. Grease is supposed to escape to the outside, rather than blowing out the inner seal and greasing up the brakes. The s-cams...

Mechanical stripped oil pan plug mbe906

Since it's aluminum and expensive, I'd suggest having the pan removed, the hole tig welded shut, then drilled out and tapped. Nice new threads. If going this route, you can use whatever size drain plug you want, and the thickness of the threaded portion can be as deep as you want it to be...

Hate to tell you this, but those fittings aren't available separately (from Hino, anyway). To get those off easily, first push the fitting onto the def injector, then press in the tabs before trying to pull it off of the injector. I know you can get those things from industrial suppliers, but i...

there is a chance that even after fixing the problem and clearing the code, the scr warning will not go away. I don't know of any method of clearing this warning other than with dealer software.

Whenever one of these has thrown a code that's def injector related and I didn't replace it, it showed up on the hook within a week. So yes, replace it.
