    Pets and Customers

I informed dispatch of the dog when I got her - it's their job to record it, same as the dimensions & capacity of the truck, and my specific credentials [hazmat, FAST, etc]. They're pretty good at it, and haven't screwed up yet. :)

    Pets and Customers

I'd have no problem crating my dog if necessary - unlike people, dogs consider a crate as a sanctuary [unless it's been used as a punishment, which is a very bad practice]. It just hasn't been necessary - yet.

    Nashville flooding

Knowing 24 was unuseable, I detoured south on US 45 - Jackson was a holy mess [the fairgrounds & Budweiser are underwater], and got as far as Henderson when the road was closed. It's a muddy mess around there.

    Pets and Customers

When I got Kenzy, [a comical mixture of Boston terrier & Pug], I bought a portable crate, in case it were ever needed - inside, as I'd never leave her outside in it, but it's never been out of the box. Probably because my carrier knows I have a dog. The dog is worth whatever loads I may miss...

    window fans

I love mine - even after the cover did a Frisbee imitation last week - Bentz/Bolt put in a brand new one, and did a great job for a great price, too. :)

    Pets and Customers

In the 18 months I've had a canine companion, I've lost just one load that I know of. I feel there will be other loads, but I owe my dog the same regard she has for me. She costs so little, and is worth so much! :)

    I-40 in Western Tennessee

Thanks for the heads up. Last night in Wisconsin, it rained so hard I was beginning to wonder what I might use for paddles, but it has stopped now.

So you want a tattoo huh

Like Streak's, my tattoo is a reminder that means something to me. Like Pel's, it's only seen if I choose to show it. The only thing interesting about mine is that I got it nearly 30 years ago. [And I was sober, lol] No regrets! ;)

    Still Learning

Being certified means having a CDL. Not all carriers require it for vans, but it's a good idea [and easy to get for a 4 wheel vehicle], if only to establish yourself as a professional. Additional certification such as HaMat endorsement, FAST [free and secure trade] for the Canadian border, TWIC...

    Expediter Poetry

I enjoyed the poetry, and hoped to see more, but your mocking jest probably killed any chance of that. :( Piper was right: EO gets more like the CB all the time. Click.

    Hi

Some will even post the fact that they have nothing to say, which makes me think they need to get a hobby - or a life.

What's the worst thing about layovers?

The worst thing about layovers is that they rarely occur at a time when you have a lot to do, [ie: oil change, laundry, truck wash, shopping], or in a place where all those things are close at hand.

Dumbest thing ever done in expedite...

Followed the signs at consignee to the shipping & receiving office, where I handed paperwork to the clerk. I didn't think it was the dumbest thing I'd ever done, but she sure did - with acid dripping from every word, she said I should have gone around to the back [unmarked] docks. I'm gonna...

    Most viewed site?

You only have to "weed [sic] thru all the notifications" until you figure out how to block them: slide the mouse to the upper right of a notification, and a 'hide' option appears. You can hide all notifications from any game or person. I play FarmVille, and the notifications are lagniappe to me...

    A Question for Van Drivers?

Have to disagree, Leo: laws/rules/regulations bother me, if only the 'presumption of guilt' [ie: drug screening]. It bothers me very much that I can't legally afford to take a nap [using the split sleeper log rules] without violating the 14 hr limit, too. The laws/rules/regulations that require...

    Health and Fitness

Excellent, Humble! :) PS How is one's neck circumference a controllable factor? Does losing weight & reducing blood pressure make a difference in that regard?
