Cruise Control in a Construction Zone

Dale: my van lacked cruise when I bought it, and an aftermarket shop [like Ziebert] added it for $175. Dealerships in your area can tell you who can do it - it's worth the bucks! :)

Tisn't a fear of liability or lawsuits [greatly exaggerated, IMO] that rules me - it's fear of the all powerful insurance companies that rule us all.

Become an Expediter, See the Country

I've talked to a few, all in vans, who are retired, and don't need the money - just want to be paid tourists. Probably not enough to keep rates down, but they're definitely out there.

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

You think they'd eventually notice: no matter how many vehicles they pass, there's always more ahead, eh?

    Political Correctness in Mexifornia

No one [or hardly anyone] can object to allowing immigrants to enter, and become citizens - as you say, we are ALL descended from immigrants, too. The increasing anger is a result of the failure to control the unrestricted entry [primarily from Mexico], or to eject those illegals once found. We...

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

I don't even have a CB in this truck, and it's often a 4 wheeler involved - but it helps to remember that I've done a few idiotic things [though not aggressively] when I get annoyed with another driver. Driving a truck has taught me patience - we don't do anything very fast, lol.:)

Aristotle: I think you did all that you could, [and more than many would have], but if you felt there was more to do, I'd have put the ball in the carrier's court - it's their rules that restrict passengers. I'd have asked them whether an emergency exemption was warranted, and abided by the...

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

Absolutely agree! It could well be ME that Turtle saw - I've done some stupid things in my years of driving. :o I'd never report a driver to their carrier for a minor transgression, but for a prolonged display of aggressive driving, I probably would. Though I never have yet, it could happen.

    Political Correctness in Mexifornia

Yep, Turtle called it. The article mentions just one idiot making a stupid call, and anyone who knows teenage boys knows they don't put all that much planning into their daily attire - a few acceptable t shirts, and they're set. The one idiot ought to remember that we don't live in Mexico, and...

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

Cheer up - I understood what you meant the first time. Or is that just scary? :D Cruise control is not to be used in a construction zone!

    Carrier Awards/Rewards

EB, that's brilliant! But shouldn't the poor driver be compensated [a lot] for the extra responsibility & aggravation of a passenger? I think he/she and you should get some cash. ;)

    Expo Plans

Not the best choice of words, Dave - these guys put game on the grill! Hope to see y'all there - & if there's gonna be karaoke, I'll bring the helium. :D

Koester Brings Bentz Products Back to Life

However it shakes out, I'm giving two thumbs up to Don Bentz, who replaced my Fantastic Fan unit last week, with no charge for labor. [Probably because the first new unit didn't work, and a second had to be installed - not his fault at all, but it took longer.] Can't promise free labor to anyone...

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

Here, we have no way to determine the veracity of such reports. The carrier can at least verify that the unit reported was in the location specified, and, if they can't verify the allegations, they can note them in the driver's file. A driver who is reckless and/or aggressive will garner...

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

That's a REALLY bad idea - with zero proof, what's to stop anyone from 'reporting' anyone else? Report it to the carrier, [with photos, if you can get them], and law enforcement if it's bad enough, and that's enough.

Happy [belated] birthday! Hope it was a good one :)

    Expediter, you've gone to far!

I agree with the others, you should report such reckless driving, and hope that others have also. I think that law enforcement gets enough nuisance calls [from an irate, but unjustifiably so] driver, that the way they "pick the flyspecks from the pepper", as the Col puts it, is by the number of...

    Pets and Customers

My wife was with me then..so she tied me to the fence, whilest she went in to unload...*L* 2 thumbs up for Jujubeans, lol [least it wasn't a crate, eh?] :p

    Pets and Customers

Of course it's up to the driver to "make sure" - they should leave any carrier whose dispatchers don't have time, or just don't bother, to do their jobs. I did. :D
