Definitely sounds like it needs a brake chamber.

I looked it up. There is a recall to check the torque on the compressor discharge tube. Basically it says to put a torque wrench on it and make sure it's not leaking.

It should be disassembled and removed. I'd be looking for evidence of def deposits, discoloration, and erosion of the catalyst substrate. A visual inspection doesn't show everything though. If the mass airflow sensor and scr inlet temp sensor readings are plausible, def concentration and...

It sounds to me like the first truck needs its SCR catalyst inspected. The common failure items have been addressed. I've seen previous def injector failure flood the SCR with def, poisoning it.

A realistic comparison would be Hino vs DT466, MBE900, CAT 3126 or C7 and Cummins ISB. This forum exists to unravel the mystery around them. Of course people having problems are going to post.

I'm with Hino123, never seen either of those go bad. I've seen altered wheelbase trucks with drive line vibrations, and the same on air ride trucks with altered ride height.

If it's bobtailed, has the wheelbase been altered?

The balancer is a possibility. I have never seen one go bad, but that doesn't mean they last eternally. Has the check engine light ever come on with a cylinder contribution code?

Does the vibration follow engine rpm, or does it increase with vehicle speed? Does it have air suspension?

My contact at Hino suggested going back and raising hell.

In this case the VNT controller went bad. I'm not sure if anyone rebuilds them reliably. The few I've seen inevitably fail.

I mean, they did something because it works now, but that turbo is from the civil war.

I just had a thought. Even if the scv was totally dead, it should still make fuel pressure. The scv is wide open with no power to it. If there was no fuel flow/pressure and the pump has an uninterrupted fuel supply, then it has to be a faulty pump vs an scv.

Glad you sorted it out. The troubleshooting suggests it's a circuit code, but it seems to be a performance code instead.

The firewall junction box is a water magnet, might want to check inside. The troubleshooting is quick to blame the ECU, but I've never had to replace one. In my experience it's always something else. Just an idea, you could run an overlay to the scv and see if that fixes it.
