Lisa and her husband Terry contacted us many years ago about getting into expediting and through that initial contact we became friends.   We often met while out on the road and we all shared a common love of animals and our lives as expediters.

Terry and Lisa traveled with their Basset Hound "Harley" who was always in the front seat surveying his kingdom.   Their expedite career was cut short due to another car hitting them and throwing Lisa out of bed and to the floor.   Lisa suffered some injuries that have been slow to heal.

Not to long ago I received a copy of a book Lisa has written while she has been at home called "Miles with my Master".   Lisa's Christian beliefs are interjected through out the story and I found that the scripture verses fit perfectly.

I really enjoyed this book, as Lisa was able to put into print many of the things I feel when driving.   What it feels like to watch the sun come up, what it looks like seeing sunsets and the mountains or desert comes alive with color.   Driving on a moonlit night with your pet beside you, turning off the radio and basking in this fantastic world we live in and how lucky we are to be seeing these sights out of a windshield.

We traveled many years with our dog, Molly and I could relate to the stories Lisa told of Harley.   We parked in special areas for Molly so she would have access to perfect grass.   Molly would only drink bottled water of one kind, as we did not want her getting sick from different water all over the country.   Our lives were very intertwined with Molly as Terry and Lisa's were with Harley.

The story is good and starts with Terry asking Lisa " So do you want to become a truck driver?" to when they had to return home.  Hopefully they will once again be back out here with us and we will have a part two edition to the book.   Reading between the beginning of their journey to their trip home kept me spell bound with all of their adventures.

The book can be found on Amazon in book form or as a Kindle addition.   If you read the and enjoy Lisa's book please write a review on Amazon.
