The Iranian Threat Evolves

MSNBC? The MSM tag was in use (1992) before MSBNC ever existed (1996). It came about with the advent of the "alternative media" of Internet Blogs, initially due to the assertions of (often extremist) wacko Bloggers that their Web sites contained the "real truth" which the "mainstream media" refused to tell.

MSM are those media disseminated via the largest distribution channels, which therefore represent what the majority of media consumers are likely to encounter. The term also denotes those media generally reflective of the prevailing currents of thought, influence, or activity. Large news conglomerates, including newspapers and the broadcast media, which underwent successive mergers in the U.S. and elsewhere at an increasing rate beginning in the 1990s, are often referenced by the term. This concentration of media ownership has raised concerns of a progressive homogenization of viewpoints presented to news consumers. Consequently, the term mainstream media has been widely used in conversation (and the blogosphere), often in oppositional, pejorative, or dismissive senses, in discussion of the mass media and the media bias.

After yesterdays two hour long (it seemed that way) broadcast of Obama's speech at Bragg, I am convinced that Fox News is a stanch support of the Obama administration because they have televised I think ever speech he has done while MSNBC has not even approached the number.

Ok I think the thay are more about giving us the info straight the reporting or thay could be trying to be like comedy central every time he opens his mouth I laugh my a** off if he was only in touch with reality

Uhm, they're developing nuclear weapons because we are unable to mind our own business.
Not hardly - they've got their reasons, but they're more related to domination of the countries around them. The ruling theocracy is not guided by a live and let live philosophy.
Well of course it's going to continue. We don't even know how to not mind other people's business at this point.
Considering the international meddling Iran does through their proxies like Hamas and by the Revolutionary Guard we had better be paying attention to what goes on there. Of course, this is to say nothing of their coziness with Venezuela and the meddling in Central America. If we lose a drone now and then, so be it - but we need to destroy them when mechanical failures happen instead of submissively handing them over.

OK, I'll bite. What, exactly, is the ruling theocracy guided by?

Considering the international meddling Iran does through their proxies like Hamas and by the Revolutionary Guard we had better be paying attention to what goes on there.
Why? That's there, not here. We're here, not there.

Of course, this is to say nothing of their coziness with Venezuela and the meddling in Central America.
Who's meddling in Central America? Ours, or Venezuela's, or Iran's? In any case, that's Central America, not here, and we're here, not there.

If we lose a drone now and then, so be it - but we need to destroy them when mechanical failures happen instead of submissively handing them over.
Agreed, especially since it's butt-stoopid simple to hijack a drone, which is exactly what Iran did with that one, rather than it being mechanical failure. It didn't crash, they assumed control of it and had it land inside Iran. Submissively handing it over is a good way to put it. Reckless and incompetent is another way to put it. So is meddling, since if we weren't over there meddling and minding other people's business with it, we'd never have lost it.

Below is a great line from the article Rlent linked in post #26:

US officials skeptical of Iran’s capabilities blame a malfunction, but so far can't explain how Iran acquired the drone intact. One American analyst ridiculed Iran’s capability, telling Defense News that the loss was “like dropping a Ferrari into an ox-cart technology culture.”

Nice analogy there Mr. Analyst. Kinda runs contrary to the Administration's reasons for poking around in Iranian affairs. If Iran has an ox-cart technology culture why are we so worried about them developing nuclear weapons?

High tech, then low tech. First they have nuclear capability, but then they can't bring down a drone. Which is it? They seem to change their story from day to day.

Well Jeff, it's really just simply a case of us not knowing which of the not known knowns are really known unknowns as opposed to unknown knowns which might actually be known not unknowns which perhaps themselves have been conflated into what we think we don't know .....

Clear now ?

At any rate, considering how our little "Welcome to Freedom and Democracy" bash over there in Iraq turned out, and considering how the "Southeast Asia "We Love Amerika" Lovefest" is currently going in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and given the fact that we are so flush and ours coffers overflowth, and given the fact that we as a nation are so beloved around the world generally, and are welcomed with open and loving arms I propose the following following festivities:

"The Great Amerikan - Persian Beach Party 2012"

Now don't be a wet blanket - you have to admit, it sure does sound like lots of fun, don't it ?

Events to include: ... Body-Surfing down there on the Straits of Hormuz ("live body" optional), IED Hide-and-Seek (all "winners" to receive a free "ride" on their own personal "Instantaneous All-Direction Elevator"), the Chemical Weapons Suit Masquerade Ball (with awards to whichever participant can stay suited the longest in the desert heat), and the Grand Prize: "Most Original Maiming" (the competition judging will be based solely on most body damage sustained, with extra consideration for multiple limb loss, innovative uses of a drinking straw, how long one can go without having to empty the colostomy bag)

What's not to like ?

After all, our current crop of war widows, paraplegics, disabled veterans, and PMC's (Parents Missing Children) will certainly need a little more company in the coming years with which to share their joyous memories and reminiscences of the "good old days" spent in far-and off foreign lands ..... and the day they got "the visit" or "the call" .....

.... Party On Garth !

Ahhh ..... Mister Moot ...... please allow me to enlighten you, since you clearly seem to be totally unaware of the clear and present danger - and are severely under-estimating the power of ox-cart (or donkey-cart) technology.

We know that Iran is utterly evil - simply by the fact that they have never invaded another nation in modern times - and that they rather seem to prefer having their own government rather than an American-installed puppet ruler.

What could be more convincing than that ?

Now, despite the fact that they don't possess long-range missiles or a navy capable of reaching our shores - indeed, they can't even produce enough gasoline to meet their own domestic consumption requirements, you are failing to see how they might pose an imminent threat ..... allow me to place the dire situation we are facing in the frankest terms and in a very harsh light.

Witness - the Revolutionary Guard Donkey Cart Brigades. By this maniacal deception they manage to deceive the entire world about their offensive nuclear delivery capabilities:

19448937.jpg

Below you see one of the members of a Cuds Brigades Amphibious Assault Team preparing to depart and embark on the long arduous sea voyage to place himself within striking distance of our shores (it will be long and arduous because, well, donkeys don't swim all that fast, they are next to worthless as far as treading water, and they have to go around the Horn of Africa and then down around The Cape, since the Suez Canal is closed to all sea-going donkey traffic) ......

All this in preparation for the coming amphibious assault - which will deliver the nukes (1000's of which were actually built and stockpiled many years ago) into the Homeland (you keep your eyes open when you're up there on the Boundary Waters Canoe Area - and report anything that seems even remotely suspicious - donkeys in canoes and the like - to Homeland Security and CBP - they will know how to handle it (but you will possibly have to undergo a body cavity search):

pd3182017.jpg

If, after, this candid and instructive briefing you and your fellow citizens still fail to see impending threat, you are just kidding yourselves and whistling past the proverbial Sharia graveyard - this is a very, very serious matter.

And even if this wholesale assault on our righteous freedom fails in subverting our great nation to the rule of the mullahs, if you think it's over, you'd be sorely mistaken - for the Iranians are very, very clever - they have a backup plan - the Revolutionary Guard Intercontinental Ballistic Donkey Cart Battery, you can see one of the thousands they have available below in "launch testing" mode below:

donkey-pulling-cart.jpg

These are obviously very mobile - so they are hard to keep track of - particularly since the fine folks over at the Five Sided Wind Box™ seem to be inclined to not bother with hardening our surveillance drones that are flying and surveilling the Persian skies, to prevent the Iranians from landing them at will - no doubt for very tactical and strategical reasons, which they are withholding from us, by necessity of National Security™ .

Mark my words - the threat is immense - no True Patriotic Amerikan™ should allow their head to rest easy as long as we face this menace - let us not be fools .....

And those in the ruling theocracy here are also not guided by a live and let live philosophy either.
