I think it was my fault it turned political. You know things just flow. Just like in a regular conversation things flow. Those are the best conversations. I understand the need for seperate forums. I just felt like saying there are ones that would like to decrease our ability to protect ourselves even more than we currently can. If theives thought all drivers were packing heat and would defend themselves they may think twice about robbing one.

We are not being singled out. Most states do not allow people to carry. Some are now getting carry permits, Michigan being one of them. Not all states that have carry permits recognize others that do. In MA you will be arrested if you carry a gun, any gun, through the state unless you register it as you pass through. People talk about civil rights being denied by race, age etc. Here is a right, in the constitution, that is being denied to all. We are forced to have FBI checks to buy any firearm. We have to take clases to get a permit to exercise our second amendment rights. The feds will sone deny us though rights and most will say nothing. What a shame that millions have fought and died for these rights just to give them away for what ever reason. I hate the fact that I spent 20 years of my life defending our constitution and nation from the sickness that we are about to vote in. What a waste of my life. We are fast becoming a socialist nation. We are willing to give up freedom for nothing in return. All of you who think that you will come out ahead with national health and a all loving government are going to find out soon. Good luck to all of you. You will need it. We delivered a Gov load yesterday and the guard actually asked us if we were allowed to carry weapons. He was under the impression that since we carried such high dollar, sensitive freight, that we would be allowed to. I told him that no weapons allowed in a commercial vehicle, but if we had a problem on a gov load, we had our trusty "red button" to push

We have been asked on more than one occasion if we were a armed service. Many in the military cannot understand how certain shipments travel unprotected. Neither can I. I can see how pointing a loaded red button at a hi-jacker will deter him/her from doing what ever to us. I feel soo safe with that button. I think I will get one for my house. We were asked by the shipper. His concern was that the loads are not recieving the kind of protection they should. He expressed concern that without the means to defend ourselfs both us and the load were in danger. I know that loads that are not officially escorted often are. The shippers who have talked to me know this as well. They feel, as do I, that some loads should have armed protection. Layoutshooter

Well that is a discretionary call.

I had a shipment that was, well, kind of unusual because some pretty highly sensitive stuff that went on my truck - a lot more than what you would call an A&E load. I was told later that they would not put it on an RVing expediting truck because it is too high profile (or as the lady put it "them **** big shiny trucks that you can see a mile away"). Well the lady who prep'ed my paper work told me that she does not care if I am armed, she won't ask either but recommends it but if I am inclined to tell anyone - don't because it may not be worth the trouble.

Is MACE Pepper Spray Legal?

Restrictions on Pepper Spray in the United States of America differ between states.
It is legal in all 50 states, however a number of cities and states have restrictions on sizes, strengths, etc. If you have a question, it is wise to contact your local police department. Defense sprays should only be purchased by those 18 years of age or older.

Wisconsin - 10% Pepper spray without UV dye is allowed.
Michigan - 2% Pepper spray allowed. Can be combined with tear gas formulation.
New York - Defense sprays only available through licensed firearm dealer or pharmacist.
Massachusetts - Possessor must have a Firearms Identification Card (FID).

NOTE: Certain other restrictions may exist in your jurisdiction. The above list is not entirely exhaustive, but it does represent the kind of restrictions that exist. If in question, check local laws.
