Romney 'new' to diplomacy

Now bear with me .... I was really bored last night ........
so I watched a bit of the Dems conference <shock, horror, gasp> LOL.

I personally had an interest on how Romney would conduct himself abroad - and was dumbfounded at some of the stuff that he said, which of course was brought up at the Dems conference .....

Have a look ....

Seriously: if insulting public officials [London's mayor] and inadvertently revealing info he shouldn't [meeting with intelligence officials] is how he acts when he's trying hard to prove how well he'll represent the US, how much worse if he were the POTUS, feeling really powerful?
Romney has never had to worry about diplomacy, and he is incapable of learning it, IMO.

Oh how quickly we forget how adept one little community organizer was (and still is) at diplomacy. Some people still choose to insert earplugs and don blinders when it relates to the gaffes of the current regime.

I really don't worry to much about what a country thinks of our president, if they are an ally then they are concerned with us not 1 person. The odd thing was that Romney was right about the security issues and that I saw some British were offended more because they were looking forward to having Romney as president, Obama forgot to mention that.

Well now ... I beg to differ LOL.

There were indeed security blunders of the highest order thanks to G4S, but they had been sorted by the time Mr Romney visited .... he was working on old info which is why he had to back peddle a wee bit.

As for UK Citizens wanting Romney as President .... I obviously cannot speak for the whole of the UK but ...

my understanding is ......

he scares the **** out of many at the very thought he may become President and have his finger on any button.

Also, UK papers are not very kind to him.

But UK Citizens also know that there is nothing they can do about it so ... they put the kettle on and have another cuppa :p

We have to keep in mind his opponent who has done wide damage abroad with our allies while trying to kiss up to our enemies.

I'm not sure if the UK is similar to the US where most people pick their team and then support them no matter what. The article I read was covering the fact that they had lost the keys for the stadium and was written as a sports article. The locals said they didn't like that Romney had said something publicly about security when they thought the UK was moving to the right and that Romney would be good to work with, they were more disappointed than upset.

Not sure either one has a leg up on foreign policy. You have one critical of a mayor in the UK and one bowing to our enemy, leading from behind, and doing "apology tours".

I'm not really very savvie with all this right, left, centre stuff.

Put it this way .... and this is not from newspapers, but friends in the UK ..... the least offensive comment I have heard from home is (and this is not from me so no shouting at me)
"Romney reminds me of a used car salesman"

But like I said UK citizens know that there isn't a darn thing they can do about it, so they don't lose sleep worrying about it.

Speaking of Romney look at what stopped at the Petro in Sparks, NV. I don't think he was on it but I didn't ask.

I seen the bus at the TA west of Monroe mich the day befre he was to speak in michigan...actually it was in line at the theuck wash next door...

As far as Romneys diplomacy, who cares..barry as been such a great communicator in foreign affairs thats for sure..and the fact is, countries all over the world will still run to us for cash for foreign aid, aid for disasters, defense in anything they need and everything else no matter if who is in the WH...
