No Mo Points...Pilot

Well looks since Pilot/Flying J's update on Sunday, us van peeps will not get anymore points if you use the pumps out front. Called Pilot Crop. today and asked why my points where no longer being added (three transactions since Monday) and was told that to get the points you have to fuel on the truck pumps. You will still get your 1/2 shower credit for 14 gallons but no points.

I will not clog a truck pump for a few points and it is much faster pumping in the front of the store anyways.

I am a little upset about the update because before the update I would get a full shower credit with just 14 gallons purchased. Which I know was not how the system was exposed to work, but I took full advantage of it:D

So u have been warned...

p.s. please don't clog the truck pumps for a few points if there is a lot of real trucks  waiting to fuel. Its just rude!!

I have never had a big truck look so much as cross eyed at me for using the big pumps. I am the first one they will pull behind when all pumps are full because they know I will be fast. They talk to me just like anyone else. Using them has nothing to do with getting points for me.

What exactly is a "real truck" by the way?

I fueled twice in the last two days, I simply asked the attendant to add my points and shower .... they smiling did so.

Looks like I upgraded to a ST at the right time. It's so nice not to have to stop for fuel after 400 miles.

I said when there are trucks waiting, they have to fuel on the truck islands they do not have a choice. If you have a choice and the truck islands are backed up (as you see at most pilots) why go back there and get in line?? they are running on the 14 hour clock and thou you may only take 10 mins to fuel that is still 10 mins lost that someone could use to fuel and go about there way. Or better yet they could use it to park on the island to go to subway, take a shower, do laundry you know all the stuff a lot of the steering wheel holders do while there truck is parked on the fuel island instead of fueling.;)

Xiggi a real truck IMHO is one that is class 6 or larger. I know many will disagree, but that is just how I feel. A van is not what I would call a TRUCK. Even thou it may be listed on your registration as one and may even say it on your plate,as mine does. Heck when my van was registered in MI. it was listed as a station wagon..Not a TRUCK .

If I see a van in one of the fuel lanes, I choose that one too. Besides knowing he'll fill up in less time than a bigger truck, if he does leave it there too long [like the selfish jerks often do], it's real easy to nudge out of the way. :D

We use the back pumps because our fuel card only works back there, plus it only takes me less than 10 mimutes to fuel up. But I can see how I am "clogging" up the fuel lanes with my less than 10 minute fuel stop versus the big trucks who take forever. I like fueling back there because if the high flow pumps and after fueling using the automated kiosk to get my receipt, its quicker since I don't have to deal with the wonderful counter staff. I can remember only one incident in 5 years of doing this that some "big tough truck driver" has said anything to me. Most of the time Im the one they pull behind first.

All of the above is of course IMHO.

What was really good was- Fuel out front get 1 shower credit, go inside and have them add my points get a half shower credit. 1.5 showers for 14 gallons. That was great!

Even in a D Unit big trucks will pull in behind us because they know we are in a hurry. By using the fuel island out back your helping someone rather than hurting them if you think about it. Your at the pump less than 10 minutes when a most big trucks are at the pump for 20 minutes or longer. Every time we are at a pump and all the pumps are full with nobody waiting behind any trucks, the big truck will pull behind the expedite truck every time because they know we don't mess around because we have hot freight on our trucks.

Yep. When I was driving a 18 wheeler, if I saw a smaller truck (ie: small capacity tanks), I always pulled in behind them. Yeah, my on duty clock was running, but that might save a few minutes.

Lol, why on earth would a van driver think they are a "truck driver?" you are definitely a professional out there, but I don't see any resemblance to a truck driver. A straight truck isn't even hardly a truck driver to some. We have it way easier than a big truck.
