How else are they going to enforce the gun bans and other "ExtraConstitutional" crap they are forcing on us?

People are generally ok with THEIR TEAM bending the rules.
That's exactly right. Recently there were a couple of polls and some studies done where people were asked about the drone targeting of US citizens without due process. Some were given the context of outside of the US borders only, and some included only on US soil, some were given no context at all - just anybody anywhere anytime as long as it's been deemed necessary.

In all cases, most people were against it. However, when it was made known that these targeted killings were a part of Obama's policies and strategies, there was a sudden dramatic shift of support for these killings.

Over at Salon.com they write of one such study from Brown University, and it's a telling study. It's a phenomenon aptly referred to as "The Obama Cue," where as soon as it's known that Obama is for it, so are most liberals.

This and other studies find, quite literally, that liberals are more likely to favor targeted killings once they know it’s Obama’s policy. In other words, liberals are willing to accept the unacceptable out of blind support for their president.

It's like Pavlov's Dog, ring the Obama Bell and they just react, no thought necessary.

In any event, the actual poll can be found here (ED Show poll: Do you agree with the policy of targeted killing of American citizens? MSNBC), and it's not even close to the results pictured above.

Change the name of the president from "Obama" to "Bush" and watch the poll numbers shift. You won't believe your eyes at the rapid shift. Or, maybe you will.

Personally, I have a hard time believing the speed at which we've allowed our constitutional rights to be trampled, regardless of who resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. You don't have 4th amendment rights-- or even rights to be treated decently-- at the airport any more. That's one example. Now, we talk of killing by remote control, without trial, without due process, strictly on the say-so of someone in the Administration, and we're beginning to accept this. If you had read of this happening in Iran, you might be infuriated at the inhumanity-- but we're doing it here to our own people so that makes it OK.

Yep, and it's a bell that's hard to un-ring. The next administration, regardless of political flavor, will take the ball and run with it, just like all the others have done.

Politics is about power, nothing more. Always has been, always will be. The key is for the citizenry to keep that power under control. And thus far we're failing.

We have nothing to do BUT fail. One candidate could absolutely own the one who eventually wins. But since the powers that be dictate one the winner, the owned media is not going to go against that. We have no way of knowing who wins anything, other than what they tell us. We lost this country around a century ago, when we did nothing about the Fed, income tax, and then accepted crap like social security, the Great Society, and fiat currency. The tv peaks our interest, but what's going on in the world doesn't even evoke an erection. The bread and circuses have won out... just as they thought they would.
