People are generally ok with THEIR TEAM bending the rules.
That's exactly right. Recently there were a couple of polls and some studies done where people were asked about the drone targeting of US citizens without due process. Some were given the context of outside of the US borders only, and some included only on US soil, some were given no context at all - just anybody anywhere anytime as long as it's been deemed necessary.
In all cases, most people were against it. However, when it was made known that these targeted killings were a part of Obama's policies and strategies, there was a sudden dramatic shift of support for these killings.
Over at
Salon.com they write of one such study from Brown University, and it's a telling study. It's a phenomenon aptly referred to as "The Obama Cue," where as soon as it's known that Obama is for it, so are most liberals.
This and other studies find, quite literally, that liberals are more likely to favor targeted killings once they know it’s Obama’s policy. In other words, liberals are willing to accept the unacceptable out of blind support for their president.
It's like Pavlov's Dog, ring the Obama Bell and they just react, no thought necessary.
In any event, the actual poll can be found here (
ED Show poll: Do you agree with the policy of targeted killing of American citizens? MSNBC), and it's not even close to the results pictured above.
