First off, I see the word LAYOUTSHOOTER in bold black letters, so it it there. Second, I KNOW you did NOT call me a racist, I was just stating a fact. Third, I was NOT talking about laws, civil rights, or ANYTHING along those lines. I was more or less musing over what an individual might have been thinking. Nothing more. I find the thoughts of others interesting and enlightening and make every effort to try to learn what others may think. Go ahead, laugh at that and ridicule it, BUT, you do NOT know me in REAL life, I think you would be VERY surpized IF we ever sat and talked.

Ridicule what? I get what you are saying....this time.:)

That way of thinking is absolutely right, now if we applied it to ALL elected officals, we'd have replaced more then a few Presidents and most any other elected office also...and the person sitting in the WH would have been out of office within his 1st 6 months there...but alas...we don't follow the law when it come to politicians, either elected or appointed (SC justices come to mind) so why should this judge be any different...yeap he probably broke the law, so what, they all do.....

Do you know Barney Rubble? It would not surprise me as you obviously still live in the stone age. How in any way can you construe this judge's opinion as "protecting" children of mixed marriages? He says he doesn't want them to be married! That's not even the most ridiulous issue of all this. The idea that a "mixed" couple, or any couple for that matter won't have kids because they aren't married is asinine. Duh! look around in any town in America. It is no secret that the erosion of the family unit has led to breakdown of morals, work ethic, and sense of self worth. It also leads to unprecedented upticks in crime and violence. In this issue, 2 people take a stand and try to do the right thing and are batted down. Did I read somewhere on this forum you were once a police officer? If that is true you have seen plenty of this up close and you certainly know what I am talking about.
Nope, I Don't Know Barney Rubble, But I Do Know Who he Is! What's he have to do with anything? I Read it in the Newspaper Article Did You?? What the Justice of the Peace's Reasons were for Not Marrying That Couple, Quote: I Refused to Issue a Marriage License to an Interacial Couple Out of concern for any children The Couple Might Have. And it is his experience that most Interacial Marriages Do not Last Long. End Quote, Now You Tell me How that Makes him a Racist!! "There's Plenty More" in this Article, Look it up, It's in The "Toledo Blade" Dated October 16,2009 Section A Page 7........
And Yes, I am a Retired Police Officer and I Have seen this Up Close with the Majority of them being Broken Families, and Have the Common Sense to Understand what this Justice of the Peace Believes!! I Suggest you go On line and Read The Whole Article Instead of Drawing your Own Conclusions!! :D

Hey how come you guys are picking on those Mexicans again? The US has such a restricted immigration policy that the numbers of immigrants needed to fill those $6/hr jobs can't possibly be filled by legal immigration numbers (right now). So the democrat idea of pardoning and granting the illegals citizenship makes perfect sense for all those service industry jobs and also it gives them an extra million plus new taxpayers in one year! That's the secret to the democrat plan of lowering the billions owed. BTW the official language of the SW US will be Spanish along with every school being bilingual.

Did I say Mexican? I think that ALL criminal invaders should leave. Period. Restrictive policy? By who's assestment? Are we required to let ANYONE in? We have problems with urban sprawl, high un-employment etc. We need to take care of U.S. Citizens first. LEGAL immigrants as well. The rest have to go.

I never mentioned the JOP being a racist. I never mentioned anyone being a racist. I read the whole article. I posted the ENTIRE article after reading it. Did you read it? Are you saying it is better to send the message that mixed marriages are wrong because they usually end up in divorce? I have news for you, nearly half of ALL marriages end up in divorce. Am I to understand that you are saying these kids are going to end up in broken homes so they are better off being born of single parents?

Layout the restrictive policy refers to the immigration part of now being geared to those with higher education and skill sets. So you are getting a lot of foreign doctors, machinists and other skilled trades people and not really any of the lower levels of workers. Your policies like those of many developed countries is to take the best (educated and skilled) of another country (brain drain) while the US suffers with low paying jobs screaming for workers and the lack of jobs for newly turned out educated and trained americans. Now part of the problem again goes to the foreigners in some cases starting their careers at lower incomes than what an american expects. Here's another point in that education for many higher skills is costing way too much and the foreigners who have money are displacing many locals in the upper education and training system making it harder for locals to get the education/skills they need to have a decent career.

I agree about not letting in anyone! Holy smokes just think what you'd get! I agree the US should get a backbone and get rid of as many illegals as they can and as you point out put Americans to work. Yes take care of the citizenry first as they vote for you and illegals don't!
Although by the looks of the Acorn thing I think foreign political moves of ballot box stuffing has come home to america.

Re the JOP and his position, well he's in a job, paid by the people and therefore he should just do it and not inject his opinions and ideals. He is to perform the job within the boundaries of the law.

Oh Yeah, I Read the Whole article More than Once! You are the One who Tried to Make things worse than they Really Are!! NO, I Didn't say that Mixed Marriages Usually End up in Divorces----The Justice of the Peace Did!! It Appears that you are Trying to Pick Apart my Comments by Questioning if I was Saying this Or That When in Fact It's Right In Front of you as to what I Actually Said So Don't Try and Twist it around to Meet Your Agenda, What Ever That Is!! :D

I understand what you mean now. There will be a time in the future when we will NEED to open up our policies, that time is NOT now. What we need now, besides deporting the exsisting criminals is to take control of our borders. THEN come up with an imigration PLAN. We need an amendment to the Constitution making Standard American English our official national language. That would be the ONLY language used for ANY official business. That would go a long way to fixing this mess.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I merely asked you a couple questions based on what you posted. I haven't twisted anything. I wasn't aware your statements are beyond reproach. What specifically do you think I am "twisting" as you say?

I almost have to wonder if this is a hoax.

I think this is probably closer to the truth, but on the part of the couple wanting to get married. They probably knew about this guy's attitudes beforehand, and went in there to make a political point and call attention to not only him, but especially themselves.

This situation reminds me of the phamacists that won't fill birth control prescriptions because of their personal pro-life beliefs. Unless they are working in their privately owned pharmacy business, they have probably been hired by another company like Walgreens to fill prescriptions for the public and should do so regardless of their personal feelings.
In the case of this JP, he's been put in that position to serve the public regardless of their race, creed, color, religion, etc. or his personal beliefs. If he won't fulfill his duties he should be replaced.

Regarding the interracial couple, why didn't they go to somebody else to get married? They could just have easily gone to another JP, judge or minister. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the near future on some tacky TV "reality" show next to the Balloon Boy's parents.

If this Louisiana JP's parents had gone before a like minded justice of the peace who refused to grant a marriage license to a inter-familiar couple out of concern for any children they might have, well we'all weren't be havin' this discussion.

No one has mentioned that what gave this story it's push into the "news" was the fact that the J.P.'s refusal to marry the couple was against established law.
