At the risk of splitting hairs, there seems to be a certain subservience in Obama's bows that a lot of people find inappropriate. Notice the picture of Ike's bow to the Pope - they're engaged in a slight bow to each other, showing a degree of mutual respect between two heads of state that might be expected. In Nixon's picture, it's hard to tell if the two leaders are engaged in a slight bow to each other or just leaning closer to engage in conversation.

On the other hand, notice the posture of the Chinese and Japanese (shown below) heads of state; they're standing straight as he bows to them - definitely not a gesture one would expect from the leader of the world's most powerful nation.

On the other hand, we have the attitude displayed by Obama toward the Prime Minister of Canada, our immediate neighbor to the north and one of our closest allies:

I guess we shouldn't be surprised at this stuff, coming from the most inexperienced and unqualified president in the country's history. And to think the GOP couldn't come up with anyone better than McCain to run against him:confused:

There's a lot of people who find something wrong with anything and everything that Obama does or doesn't do.

Pilgrim, take a closer look at this picture. The leader of the world's most powerful nation is standing upright, at least as upright as he can. It's the other dude that is doing all the bowing.

Of course, the problem with making these type of assumptions about what was or what wasn't done (or how low someone bowed) is that one is relying on still photography, which shows only what was occurring at a single point in time .... so who knows what was going on at other than the exact point the photog decided to pull the trigger .....

If you were comparing an entire video of what actually occurred, such conclusions might have a little more of a leg to stand on ....

And to think the GOP couldn't come up with anyone better than McCain to run against him:confused:
Well now, you do have a valid point there ..... yup - it's pretty sad .... :D

True indeed - just one of the crosses that have to be borne by those in high public offices.

If Obama can't take the heat he should just get out of the kitchen. As to him doing something right, he does go to sleep most nights, can't ruin my life while sleeping!!!
