Barack Obama mocks Donald Trump at White House dinner

US President Barack Obama has sent up Donald Trump's presidential ambitions, joking that the real-estate mogul would turn the White House into a casino.

During the White House correspondents' annual dinner Mr Obama showed a picture of a White House with girls in bikinis sipping ****tails in a hot tub.

The president also made fun of rumours that he was not born in the US.

Mr Trump, a potential Republican presidential candidate, had recently revived the conspiracy theory.

Mr Obama said that after he released his long-form birth certificate this week in order to settle the issue, Mr Trump could now turn his attention to more serious matters such as, "Did we fake the Moon landing?"

During the dinner comedian Seth Meyers also teased Mr Trump, who sat stony-faced through the barrage.

"Donald Trump often talks about running as a Republican, which is surprising," said Mr Meyers. "I just assumed he was running as a joke."

Yeah, and Obama mocking ANYONE is funny! A putz who's biggest accomplishment in life is wiping out the US economy should keep his mouth shut!

I found some of the quips quite funny, but according to the news this morning Mr Trump was not amused!

What real life accomplishments?

You know the history of the guy?

I would think Larry Ellison and others like him have had real accomplishments, not the donald.

I am not sure how you come to that conclusion. Obama is extremely conceited, arrogant and thin skinned. Not sure either one of the two people can come out on top of that.

They are both narcissistic to the point that they make you want to puke...but while I don't believe that "the donald' will get close to the primaries...if he was the choosen one to run against barry..i'd vote for him in a heartbeat..only to get rid of barry...but i can't say it would be much of an improvement

Trump vs. Obama? That's an easy one. Trump is the lesser of two evils. Then again, Obama would be the lesser of two evils only against Lucifer, Qadafi, Imadamwhackjob and a very few others. Why anyone wastes any time debating/denigrating anyone opposing Obama is a mystery since ANYONE put up against Obama will be an improvement.

What's really sad is how we will vote for anyone over Obama. Doesn't really matter who it is.

Equally true of every election: we vote not for the candidate we want [because none are what we really want], but against the one we want even less.
