    Fleet Owner Blues

I totally understand. I admire anyone that has some drive, ambition, and willing to take alittle risk. Just be patient. "Rome wasn't built in a day"

Those items could always be options, but they come with significant risk. In those cases, you are still carrying the note. If you are doing well with your local operation, I would be very careful about jeopardizing anything associated to it.

It may be just me, but I get somewhat of an uneasy feeling with the information and how you are operating. Not trying to be critical, but just an observation.

    MBE 900 Misfiring

Based on your information, I see a couple places to look if it isn't throwing any codes. Probably done, but make sure there is no water present in the separator. Drain and change filter if this hasn't been down. Second, you may have low voltage/grounding issue at the fuel pump and or...

    Fleet Owner Blues

I have to think 200,000 engine protection is pretty limited on a eight year old truck. Or...maybe I am missing something? What is the milage on your units? Secondly, I would watch carefully about projections and the time they were done. Looking at numbers from a year or two ago are much...

    Fleet Owner Blues

Probably won't like my answers, but I would be surprised your 2000 FL will go 3 years unless it has pretty low milage. It is eight years old now. The other truck on a four year loan is somewhat questionable as well on those terms. If that engine blows, are you solvent enough for another...

    Opinions on this truck?

The guy that offered that truck did live in AR if the same guy. He offered to sell it to me a couple of years ago for 110,000. At that time he said it had 132,000 miles on it. If I am not mistaken, it has a replaced engine or rebuilt. There was some kind of issue in that I had no interest...

Anybody Ever Run by Triple T in Tucson?

I dunno. I just shaddup and did what I was asked...it's too early in the game for me to be peeving people off I wouldn't worry about peeving someone off as this is described. So the Ateam is in Tuscon? Must want royalties from your photo. Our truck should have stopped and taken some. If they...

    I'm Out

I know in Florida they closed up around Christmas and a lot of people never got their Christmas items shipped. Talk about a lot of aggravated people. Likely why you see all the comments on Amazon.

new dispatch system @ the fed

Just an outsider looking in, it would seem like you would be responding to load offers all the time even though you may not ever run them. Can't imagine this in say somewhere like Chicago. When would you sleep with the qc going off every couple of minutes and you would have to respond knowing...

    8 Hrs Advance

Could someone in the know tell me if you refuse a load that was offered more then 8 hrs in advance count toward your refusul number ========================= It depends. Monday through Friday it isn't a refusal. If it is Sat through Sun, I believe it is 24 hrs. If they are recorded...

    cool beans

It will come along. Some of the issues with new tractor programs, FSC progams and the like should be located here. People at say, 3-State could care less what Panther is doing.

    &%*^%$ Pro Heat!!

Could be a loose belt. We had a shop put one on and didn't tighten it to specs and it blew out the generator. $1800 special for a generator replacement. Blew out the bearings. Warranties can be a wonderful thing.

    chrysler plant closing

We don't do a lot of big three either. But I do stand corrected. GM's plans may change because of a parts strike from Delphi. I would think that will be a wait and see thing?

    chrysler plant closing

The two weeks are actual shutdowns followed by another two weeks of retooling. I wouldn't anticipate freight from these locations for 4 to 6 weeks unless something changes.

A tragic loss of a great guy. He will be missed greatly here on the EO site and in person. Our prayers are with his wife and family.

365 days later..a newbie speaks out

Apparently no one have been to a truck auction lately. The majority of failures in the truck industry are in the first 5 years. The majority of those that leave from financial distress is considerably higher with new folks, than ones in the business for a considerable time. That would apply to...

    New fuel program in Panther

How many Panther trucks out there without FSC or overall $1.3 a mile on loads they take None that I am aware of if you are talking about straights or tractors. No clue on what the vans are doing.

    Understanding Return on Investment (ROI)

I think everyone pretty much gets it by now. Again....this link/definition provides the formulas at the bottom. Rate of return - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia If you need to apply it into to a one truck operation, I thought Turtle had a good post. No point in constantly repeating the same...
