    What is your chosen ROI?

I agree that you have to have a healthy balance. You have to enjoy what you are doing especially in this business. This industry offers so much that others don't outside of the financial gain. One does have to take the financial picture into account. If one can't produce a return on their...

    coe expediter anyone?

Pictures look ok? Your computer? Typical FL. Will be good for a month and then bring out the roll of velcro to quiet it down.

Are Recruiters Really the Lying Scumbags Drivers Say They Are?

Have to agree with Rich on this one. One top notch guy. As for this post, "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer". Might be better to ask a recruiter a financial question? Maybe one on "what does ROI" mean?

    fuel tank

I just replaced one several months ago for a Sterling and bought the part at FLT of Knoxville. Price was 31.50. I had to take a fuel tank cover off and install. It took about a half hour. Probably could have went underneath but I didn't want to get dirty. Fleet owners aren't suppose to get...

    Wrecker Fees While Under Load

I haven't experienced that but maybe that should be addressed in one of these meetings. Calling at least more than one service vendor for a quote. Maybe a council member will stumble acrossed this. As far as one being faster than the other, that could only be based on milage. I don't recall...

    Wrecker Fees While Under Load

We had a truck towed last year but I told Panther I would arrange the towing. We got a reasonable rate and panther got their freight delivered. Same tow outfit then hauled us to the other end of town for the repair. All we did is give the name of the tow service and Panther called them to...

    coe expediter anyone?

I drove one two years ago with a air ride on the front suspension. I thought it rode smooth and as well as a conventional. Just my opinion based on one drive. But I did take it over some rough road to see how it would do. Pretty good actually. We use to have COE KW's and this rode smoother...

    new express-1 sprinters

It will cover what the manufacturer warranty is. On a high milage vehicle they likely aen't covering anything past that. NAVL were the masters at lease/purchases until they got busted and had the behinds sued. Kind of a carbon copy of Midwestern, if anyone remembers them from Kansas. Their...

How to buy a truck, the right way

Very good points in which I would agree with. I would confirm with the lender if ther is one as to what the balance and any liens are prior to a purchase. The release date of the title is important as well. You may be ready to go to work and then realize it takes them three weeks to process...

MBE 900 oil pressure and usage question

Ok....It is running too low in the operating range at certain times. The minute the engine is lugging, you are loosing oil. Keep it in a higher operating range and the problem will go away. As presented, the other person has a automatic and it is getting shifted at the proper intervals. That...

Might be more profitable to lease trucks than haul freight. They are stealing a page from NAVL.

    3126 Engine problems

A reman is likely the best choice, but is expensive. A rebuild can be an alternative but you really have to know what caused the intial engine failure in the first place. These can be pretty durable engines. The last one we sold had over 800,000 on it and it ran great. We still have a C7 in...

MBE 900 oil pressure and usage question

Is this truck a automatic or a manual? If the oil pressure drops, that is a sign of the engine lugging or getting low in its rpm operating range. Might be why you are seeing oil consumption as that will create blow-by.

Hey...."don't shoot the messenger" I just said he had ribs in Memphis. I have to admit, I am with Barb. I'm not sold on any of my choices. There are problems with all of them.

    Trucking news from WashingtonD.C.

If, and I say if, this guy is doing specialized over size or permit hauling and he only made $11,000, he is clearly making some major errors in how he operates. As for taxes, that is possibly some of the issue but I think there is a basket full of other issues that would apply as well.
