    C.o.l.a

Even though your post isn't directed at me, I will say that I am thrilled that someone new has found a degree of success. It is that very reason that many of us participate in the forums at which we do. That includes truck shows, expos, and workshops. But, for me personally, I look at total...

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

Exactly. Sometimes you have to tilt those odds alittle in your favor with alittle effort. Sometimes you can, and sometimes you can't Have to admit though, I been pretty blessed and lucky.

I would agree. I think Moot addressed those Ateam issues appropriately. PJJJJJ In response to your question, there is some luck involved contrary to the belief of a few. One can minimize some of the issues, But.......... It is still luck that one is in the right place It is still...

    Women in Trucking

One of my questions has been [since there are so many rules, regulations and laws concerning truck drivers] why are there no regulations for companies who do not provide readable addresses on their buildings or provide proper signs indicating shipping and receiving. It seems such a simple...

    Women in Trucking

I would say the strongest advice already given, is to become a active participant in the EO forums. As mentioned, the best way to gain support from a group is to interact and support that intended group. Our experience really resulted in one not knowing what we do. Or..........."your the...

Heard of "NGL" "JS" or Express Courier?

Only familiar with the first. They are a 3rd party broker. No clue on how they are to work for.

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

The Colonel brings up a good point. A lot of the information gets reformulated because of the new people that come to the site. That does cause some repetition in some of the responses as many questions are similar. Greg does make a good point in that if a company tanks, how well could they...

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

I think without a doubt, there are many that are successful in the industry. As a percentage, it is a small number verses the many that enter. As one reviews current and past threads one will realize that the names you see now, are much different than say several years ago. It is for that...

    Women in Trucking

The wife looked at this group last year but they are generally TT oriented. Got the impression they look down on the expedite market. In fact, if I recall correctly, they didn't even know what expediting was. Or, that was an easier answer to show disinterest. Wife was less than impressed.

    Being Audited from IRS

I would really advise having some legal council in this situation. I personally wouldn't know the process in your case, but I would start with SS and see what help they can give you. If that doesn't work, call the Bar Association in your state for representation and guidance. You don't list...

Yes, We're considering FedExCC in "bad times"

I think you were given some good advice as far as driving for someone for a short while to see if expediting is for you. As mentioned already, they aren't the same as truckload, so it may be worth testing the waters before you jump. Additionally, if you are reliant upon the one carrier, one...

    lose of power

A change in fuel pressure at the pump (should throw a code) or on a Sprinter, an issue at the EGR/emission system. Cars use to have those issues when the catalytic converter started to clog.

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

I am by no means posting to look for tissues...lol I have made my bed and sleep in it I shall. I would just like to share my experience so others can make an informed decision I think that is the value of your post. You are working a second gig and still struggling. It is important that...

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

My vision is as clear as ever. What changed is general economic conditions. I call 'em as I see 'em. The problem never was my unfounded optimism. It was your unfounded gloom. I wouldn't call it unfounded gloom, or I wouldn't still be here after 23 years. But, I do know what is realistic, and...

    sprinter tranny troubles!!!

The more concerning issue with Honda's is the black or burnt fluid. I don't believe a bad speed sensor would affect that. However, it is a Sprinter which I know little about.

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

I believe the "rose colored glasses came off" While a rarity, I think Phil's first post is spot on. The second, well, that offers little comfort to the team you are referencing, that is starving. Probably would have left that out. But, If you are thinking about jumping into expediting in...

    Fleet Owner Blues

As a bunch have mentioned, it is the total pay for ALL miles that the run would require. I would watch that number much closer than the run miles themselves. A 200 mile run can be as good as a 1000 mile run, or just as bad. It is what you wind up with, and where you are at when you deliver.

    Fleet Owner Blues

I am surprised the owner didn't notice a big difference in fuel consumption either through purchases or fuel tax report? Additionally, they can log on to the owner web site and see the truck is on.
