Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

It might. But unless they are absolutely terrible, it should still regen. The dealer should have checked the injectors at the time of the recall if there was any question about their integrity. If they were found to be bad, you'd have been asked to replace them if your DPF was replaced during...

How does the truck run? When started cold, does the engine make a ruckus? Knocking, clatter, rough idle, sounds like it's misfiring? If so, how long does this last? A few seconds? Does it behave correctly only after it's completely warmed up? Does it run like crap all the time? Take...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the dealers response, but I'm glad your abs problems appear to be solved.

I'm covering a complex topic, and I'm trying to make it so everyone understands, and I suck at doing that, lol. I sent someone a PM the other day that had to be broken into two parts. The 5000 character limit almost got reached twice.

Has this truck ever had the turbocharger replaced? U1123 is a network communication error with the VNT controller on the turbo. I just now looked it up. It's unusual, I've only seen it once. P0045 is the code most are familiar with when the VNT gets stuck or can't move through it's full range...

High rail pressure Low rail pressure CAN network code. Clean all the grounds, especially left rear cab to frame. Take down to bare metal The last one I think is engine overeheat. The parts of the radiator you can see will look clean. The parts you can't will be absolutely filthy. Unbolt...

I need to edit some stuff in the Hino thread in the Truck Talk forum, but only the newest posts have an edit button. Is it possible to go back and edit those earlier posts? Some information posted several months ago is now obsolete.

Our Government an instigator of terror activities?

The atheists I know are agnostic atheists. No positive claims of knowing that God doesn't exist, period. More like, I see no evidence of God, so how can I believe? You're describing Gnostic Atheists, or Anti-theists. And free speech? The first Amendment says that the GOVERNMENT can't put...

Hi there, Edit: Is the check engine light on? Check for inactive codes in the dash. Push the mode button until system check comes up. Press up to select. Press up and hold to access inactive codes. press up to cycle through them. Post them here. Edit #2: You mean it started alarming...

Our Government an instigator of terror activities?

Maybe on the internet, but every atheist I know does not advertise it publicly. Some believers take that news really, really poorly and exhibit some reactions that make the now public atheist wish he'd kept his trap shut. Just sayin'.

Generally that means about $2800 if you do it yourself. Seriously though, search through this thread. The VNT controllers on these go bad for various reasons, including the linkage getting bound up. About 30-40% of the time you can lube up the VNT linkage with Loctite Aerosol Nickel...

Our Government an instigator of terror activities?

So can I: By not having one. Right wingers think Obama is Muslim. Left Wingers...I guess they believe that he's Christian, be cause he says that he's a Christian. Americans aren't ready to elect an atheist yet, which is a shame.

Sorry to interject, but all that sensor does is turn on the light on the dash. But yes, it should be kept in a functional state.

That's a good question. I don't like hacking connectors off if I can help it. Take the old radio in with you and see if you can find something that will plug into it. Then you can splice that and the pigtail of the new radio together. An independent car stereo shop probably has more of this...

    5.9 cummins cold weather miss

I'm not that familiar with the types of fuel connections one would find on this truck, but I've seen problems with multiple brands with problems like you're describing with old, original fuel lines in cold weather. Older rubber and plastics will seal when hot but can leak air past fittings and...

    EOBR into an older truck?

New Hinos have a pigtail near the steering column specifically to hook up systems like the Qualcomm. To absolutely no one's surprise, unqualified installers don't even know it's there and instead go tapping into all sorts of things that are better left unmolested.

The secondary fuel filter is probably proprietary to Hino, so you'll have to get it from a dealer. If you want to make it easy, I can give you my shop's number. Our parts guy will know exactly what you are talking about and he can ship them right to you.
