    Truckers Driving Thru Michigan Beware

    33,000 or 32,000

You could have different weight amounts per axle. If you have 14,000 lbs. on the front and say 16,000 lbs. on the rear, you are too heavy. Why? Front axle is too heavy. Most states have a 12,000 lb limit. Some will give you some slack, and some will not if you are over. Davekc

    Good advice to fledgling newbies.

"RE: Good advice to fledgling newbies." Don't listen to one that claims he is averaging over $3.00 per loaded mile for all runs. Or, $30,000 in a month on less than 10,000 miles. It is far from reality It is amazing the information some throw out there. Davekc

    33,000 or 32,000

That is where they get you. It is the weight on each axle, not the GVW. Davekc

    Programing the Allison Automatic Transmission?

We just had one done not too long ago. My advise is to go to Stewart and Stevens in Dallas TX. Total cost was $98.00. Ask for Kenny in the transmission shop. They are a authorized dealer for Allison. I was quoted a flat $300 by two other shops. The mode is for economy. One for city, and one for...

    10 wheel tire rotation

Different tires may have different requirements, but we have taken the front right drives and moved them to the back on the left side. Then back left to the front right. We scheduled this at roughly 100,000 miles. Check brakes, bearings, seals at this time and R&R the shocks. Others may...

    Truck probs in Muskogee

Depending on the engine, if batteries are poor, but the alternator is good, it will still effect the computer or in some cases throw a fault code because the ECM monitors the alternator discharge. If it senses there isn't a discharge, it codes that as a problem. Again, depending on the engine...

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

How would you like Howard Stern and Jerry Springer to design your truck? Would it be a T-300 with pasties on its grill? Certainly a option that we haven't considered.:7 Davekc

    Truck probs in Muskogee

Once a year if you are paying, and twice if you are not. Best time is right before winter when the demands on your batteries are the greatest. Then, I would do them in the spring to ensure there are no grounding and or corrosion issues. Davekc owner 21 years

    A Team

I agree with the others that this is a old topic that was addressed awhile back. The only issue I see is that they are stating this is a current policy based on past statements by one of their drivers. If they are being effected today as the post states, I would think that is a current issue...

    Expediting in the West

I personally have no knowledge of whatever Tri-State's west coast plan is. My big three with a west coast freight base are Panther, Fedex, and Landstar. You could throw Conway in there also. All of these companies have trucks on the coast. Davekc

    Truck probs in Muskogee

Could be several items depending on what type of engine. The basics based on your post is a siezure within the fuel pump selenoid. Especially if it is bypassed and everything runs ok. If it still quits, then there is a host of other items based on the engine type. Davekc

    Experiance Requirements for D-Unit

After training the trucking company pays .30 for all miles + tolls + unloading + multiple stops, etc. Average miles per week according to my friend is 2500-2700. I figure that would be a little over $800 before taxes. As a solo in a D-Unit could I come close to that? Could I make more then that...
