    Dream Team

Thanks, we had a great time. It was a pleasure to meet so many in person. Our new addition will be a nice test vehicle for Elite Services. We are excited to see how it turns out. Davekc owner 21 years

    Calculating your #s

Good post. This is why it so important to know and understand your costs. All to often it is done backwards. Someone buys the truck, and then tries to make it profitable. Davekc

    Dream Team

Owners are just like the drivers. Some are the greatest thing since sliced bread while others are totally worthless. Probably should mention, I am not from GA:7 Davekc owner 21 years

Just wondering if this can be done......

They have box lifts like you see on airport consession vehicles, but they are too heavy for a freight application. Most small box trucks (12,000lbs or less) that are not dock high, carry a set of ramps. This will provide roughly 6 to 12 inches. If you need more than that, I wouldn't recommend...

    gelled fuel

You should have had the tech pull several samples and bottle them. At that point, you could send them to a lab to see how much dye is in there. I would consider a clear plastic container and pump alittle fuel in it prior to filling. At least you will know what you are getting. The red dye is...

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

Give our readers some credit. You post in question was wrote on Nov 2nd. Your partial retraction was not until Nov 6th, after being questioned on it. Kudos to you however for the delayed explanation of your post and your self described "character flaws" Lets keep this thread on truck building...

    Engine in the 2005 M2

Rich has a good point. I was thinking that the Mercedes has a sealed unit. If it does have a seal, that would be another place to look. You would think with close inspection, they would be able to tell the origin of the leak? Hopefully they get you out quickly. Davekc

    Engine in the 2005 M2

We have one that is the same year, but with a Cat engine. So far, no problems. As stupid as it sounds, it is a possibility that when the oil was changed, they left the cap off. We had caught Speedco forgetting to attach and seal it twice. Oil line to the turbo is possible, but it is on the other...

    Super Single Tires

I have never seen them on a straight truck. Usually just on tankers. Davekc

    gelled fuel

They do seperate them. Meaner Power Cleaner is a additive for performance, and the standard Howes is the anti-gel. Davekc

FYI 2005 AND 2006 STANDARD MILEAGE RATE FOR

There have been some posts in the past using this deduction method for straight trucks. Based on this language, it does't look like they are covered. I quess it depends on how broad the definition of panel trucks. What is defined as a panel truck? Davekc

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

    Foreign Tires

Dave, we run Yokohamas on the steers and Kumho Longmarks (insert your own joke here) on the drives, and have had fantastic wear and service from them. Thanks for the information. We have never ran the foriegn tires and wondered how well they worked. We currently have had the best luck with...

Just acquired a well-loved 02 Sprinter; ISO genera

RE: Just acquired a well-loved 02 Sprinter; ISO ge I don't own a Sprinter, but that is not a problem that has been reported here on EO from other owners. I would get it checked out as it could be a major or minor concern. Even if it is minor, continuing to drive with it in that condition...

    thermoking or carrier?

Simular to the install of a generator. I would say 1200 to 1500 depending on mounting configurations. Is your box insulated? If not, there is a major cost there. For under the box units, I like the Carriers. For upper box mount, I like Thermoking. We have had both and I like the upper ones...

    Winter Diesel Fuel vs MPG

I like Howes the best for availability and price. As good but cost more is Lucas fuel treatment. It works well but many places don't always carry it. Hope that helps Davekc

    Seriosly thinking about a van

I don't run any vans but searching the archives here on EO will give you a wealth of information. A team would likely make more money, but I am not sure how that translates to each company. Keep in mind that not all companies are recruiting vans at this time. I would talk to as many drivers and...
