    Is Obama a muslim?

If you can wait till Monday, I'd help - I installed mine in a couple hours, all by myself. :)

    Watch Yourselves In LAREDO

I always found TV news frustrating, leaving me in a daze from the rapid fire sequence of short 'stories', unanswered questions spinning through my poor brain, wondering how much of what I'd just heard was anything I really needed to know anyhow. As Turtle says, the internet allows me to take...

    Question?\opinion

Ooops - didn't see that it only applies to CVs - you guys get much better fuel mileage, lol.:)

    Question?\opinion

10% is [for me, at least] the 'impossible dream'. Last week, I did 1850 load miles, with 250 DH, a little better than the 15% I try for - some weeks, it's higher, but rarely lower.

    Question about Detroiter Truck Stop

I usually pop in for the cheap books, and will probably be there Mon, [delivering in Detroit], but I never fuel or park there, because the pay to park [75 gal min!] ticks me off. I go down the road to Meijer, a much nicer place.

    cargo vs straight truck

So, if he gets to be unsufferable, [and Juju is too busy weeding to take care of it], all you gotta do is repost the photo of his exquisitely awful sartorial choices, eh? I never thought the shorts were noteworthy, but paired with a red plaid shirt? Words can't convey the horror, lol

A Big Thank You To All!

Plain chess [also came in lemon flavor] is an egg custard pie served at Piccadilly Cafeteria. It may be original, as they make everything there from scratch, and buttermilk pie tastes the same, if memory serves...

A Big Thank You To All!

Anyone else think buttermilk pie [which was GOOD!] is the same as chess pie? Anyone else ever heard of chess pie?! Back on topic: we owe Rodney a big thanks - he jumped right in and worked hard to make the cookout great, and he and Sindy are a welcome addition to the Goober Gallery here on EO.:D

    cargo vs straight truck

I don't think even an owner of both could provide a "true" answer - so much depends on the driver. IE: where the sitting is done, [take a load to the middle of nowhere, like SD, :p you're probably gonna sit - or deadhead out.] A driver who is not knowledgeable, motivated, or disciplined enough...

    DOT Physical?

A post crash drug screen is required if: Any person required medical treatment. Either vehicle required towing from the scene. The commercial driver was cited. I believe that is a DOT requirement, not an option for the carriers.

    EOBR for Solo Drivers

Um, if you're not looking for remarks from the peanut 'galley' [sic], why post a question on Goober Central? Highway Star, Xiggi, and myself are solos, and the answer is that the EOBR doesn't care what your plans are - work with it, or don't, but you can't change it.

    EOBR for Solo Drivers

Problem is, if delivery wasn't completed in 30 minutes, there wasn't time to make the next pickup. I think EOBRs are more a threat to the unnecessary delays at the dock than to solo drivers. Solos are always wanted, for the shorter runs that teams don't like to do, but even a short run is...

List of goods to take on the road

Mark: good to have a copy of the FMCSA regs handy, so you know what is and isn't required of you. Oh, and a pr of safety glasses, for the docks that require them.

List of goods to take on the road

Xiggi: you're one of the few drivers I've seen who could probably get away with that, lol. For the rest of us, "no shirt, no shoes: no service":D

    DOT Physical?

And do call around, if the price is too high - the first place I stopped for mine [a Doc-in-a-box in SC] wanted $200! I went a few miles further, and paid $65 instead.:)

    Is Obama a muslim?

Jeez Randy, what do you expect? Due diligence? Opinions based on actual knowledge? Conclusions arrived at after careful deliberation? If so, the Soapbox is a long way from it, most of the time. It's more like the CB: a place to vent opinions, no matter how ill informed they may be [and...

    July 2010 Locations

If a dealer told me they needed to order more parts & would need another week or two, [after having had six or seven already], I'd be threatening legal action. It's not just your ride, it's your livelihood - and that is just so far beyond reasonable it's not even remotely acceptable. Hope...

    Honda Generators

Glad to hear it - the Proheat is toast, and the boss is planning to try the Honda genset [with a window AC unit] on my truck. I get to be the guinea pig, so if we do it, I'll be posting questions, for sure.

    Watch Yourselves In LAREDO

Disagree on 'the point', Greg. We all know the places where extra caution is called for, [Laredo being one], but some of us are just waaaay too willing to believe whatever we read and/or hear, and then pass it along. ChefDennis has admitted that he doesn't check the truth of the stuff he posts...

    Laptops computers

My Compaq Presario lasted 6 yrs on the road, now I have an HP. I use a child's lap tray [$5.00 at Walmart], with a removeable beanbag base. The raised edges provide airspace under the laptop, the beanbag provides stability, and it can be used around your neck as a cushion while driving, too. :D
