Become an Expediter, See the Country

I've had a lot of different jobs [since I was 16], and this is the only one that I've never once thought "I don't want to go to work today:(" Getting paid to do what you'd do for free is my definition of success. :D

Founders never wanted to block religious expression

I trust NO leftist. I trust no extremist towards any viewpoint, myself, as they tend to be blind to any possible merit of the 'other' side. And I think that building a mosque on the site of the WTC would send a powerful message: condemnation of the few should not be extended to the many.

Founders never wanted to block religious expression

As every President [and candidate] has included his religious faith as part of his candidacy, how can you possibly come to such a conclusion?!

Founders never wanted to block religious expression

I don't believe I'm stupid or ignorant, but I do believe the founding fathers were very clear on their intention to prevent the government from favoring any one religion, as that's the first step towards banning the others. Their preference for Christianity didn't blind them to the need to...

    night driving?

Probably 70% night driving, which I prefer. [As Chef mentioned, major cities are better at night, which is why I'm planning to arrive in Atlanta after midnight tonight], and it's also better for listening to whatever you use to keep alert. Audiobooks are all I use, and I'm fortunate to have...

    Air Tabs

Jeanie & I took them off a truck on which the owner [ a "we don't need to read the stinkin manual" man! ] installed them backwards. We used a blowdryer to soften the adhesive, and a plastic scraper - there was very little adhesive to remove, and [isopropyl] alcohol worked fine.

    Broker own loads?

Well, Pjjjjjjjjjj, you're technically correct, in that a simple 'yes' or 'no' would have answered the question. But one supposes the question was asked to gain information from those who do, rather than as a simple head [of which there are plenty] count. I could be wrong - it's happened before! :D

Are you running Single or Team

They've given him a number, and taken away his name... [Sorry, Moot's a baaaad influence!]:D

    Broker own loads?

One simple question. 13 replies, 12 of which offer zero help. 1 reply that answers the question, and is picked apart by a grammar Nazi. [shakes head.] We aren't making a very good [is that the correct word, Lugnut?] impression here - just saying.

    Broker own loads?

I'm sure I'd be pretty crabby too, if I had to keep rejecting the same load offer, and finding offers I'd accepted going to another truck, but that doesn't excuse the response to an innocent question, IMO.

    Bentz is now spelled Bolt.....

Agree that we should get that kind of service every time, but that we so rarely do is what makes it noteworthy. I can't speak to your complaint - I understand that what used to be Bentz has separated, and I only have experience with the Bolt/Bentz incarnation - but it's a positive experience.

    The Garden Corner

In my family, brussels sprouts are prepared like that: steamed or boiled till crisp tender, then lightly sauteed. Scrumptious is exactly right! :)

    Need help

Connie: the best advice I can offer [being a solo who drives for an owner] is to take the time to research what you're getting into. Expedite is quite different from LTL or company driving, and expedite carriers are different in their 'corporate culture' - it's better to find one that works for...

    Bentz is now spelled Bolt.....

Nobody said a word about the buffet at the J! Really, did someone whiz in your Cheerios, or what? This is our livelihood we're talking about, and service [competence and speed] makes a big difference in the bottom line for us. When the cover to my Fantastic Fan decided to do a Frisbee and sail...

    Exploring our options!

Rodney & Sindy: from getting to know you at the Expo, I'm sure you will be another success story here, and am looking forward to reading about it as it happens. Yeah, I need to get out more, lol. :D

Wow, I need a good Truck Stop Guide....

DCMark: I usually type a name into the Garmin [like Meijer] when looking for a place to sleep nearby, but the book I use every day is The Next Exit [thanks, Jerry!] It lists every business [hotels, restaurants, gas, stores, etc] at every exit on every interstate in the 48 states. It's...

    cargo vs straight truck

Maybe you could negotiate a semi return, like just going on the road for a month, then home for 2 weeks..... PS I miss your old sigline "I'm not nowhere, but you can see it from here" It always made me smile. :)

    Broker own loads?

It came from a longstanding disagreement, and it'd be less immature if it actually offered any help to the question.:(
