Sprinter Van Owner/Operator Looking to Run for Multiple Carriers

Maybe. Sometimes for that courtesy they pay much less and sometimes much later. Issues with small carriers either not paying or slow paying are all over the place in here. Sometimes being a number and getting paid on time has its rewards. ;)

Sprinter Van Owner/Operator Looking to Run for Multiple Carriers

If you are running with smaller carriers that you have a "rapport" with, wouldn't that be the carriers you would want to run with?

    Obama' Dream

Why would you think that with regards to healthcare? Rates have went up 10 to 30 percent this year alone under most plans. Wait until we have to cover the many that don't have coverage next year. Don't see any places that will make it cheaper.

    Hunting rifles blow up trains

I think the planes and trains are reasonably safe. Most of the shootings and gun violence where he comes from is either drugs, bad relationships, money, or tennis shoes.

He better start at home and rid the gangs from his streets of their firearms. Terrorists are on every street corner.

Good Truck News ... For Some One Else (Sigh)

You would have to keep the insurance and plates active on consignment but if it is priced right, you would only be talking a month or two. If you can pick up another 10k, that is a cheap investment. If the truck is higher priced, then a dealer has some advantages with regards to financing. With...

    Obama' Dream

What is this "change" you see coming? I hope it has nothing to do with "hope and change". We see how well that has been working.

Good Truck News ... For Some One Else (Sigh)

If the vehicle has a broader appeal to folks outside of expediting, you may be able to pitch it to several dealers and sell it on consignment. In the past, those numbers were anywhere from 8 to 20 percent of the sales price. Of course for that to work and be successful, the truck has to be...

    Obama's highest gas prices ever.

Gee.....don't forget we sent 3 billion to Brazil for drilling so they can sell it back to us at outrageous prices. Yep...Obama policies are certainly helping.

    Corgratulations to Load 1

Congrats as well. May be a good time and opportunity for those that aren't on the list to borrow a page or two out of the playbook of the ones honored. Certainly one of those "it is never too late" to improve.

CEO out at panther! What's going on now?

That would be the answer. If they aren't the right fit then you move on. They certainly aren't the only game in town. In most of these cases the greatest reward is to become their competition.

Maybe.......it all depends on ones motives.

CEO out at panther! What's going on now?

Oh...I just don't know? If a carrier makes millions and is increasing those millions, then cuts the drivers rate, I wouldn't see any problem with trashing them. I would certainly hope they weren't expecting any kind loyalty. One of those, "you get what you give".

    M2112

Our truck was under warranty so they paid for it. Repair was done at Tag in AR. That is their collision shop.

    M2112

I would probably go with Slow-ride. We had a Sterling that was eating the bearings every 50k or so when we first got it. Found out that the axle was slightly bent. Replaced axle and no problems after that. Frame shop can pull the axle and see if it is true as well as wear on the spindles.

Straight Truck Pay - % or mileage

We do both and it really depends on the overall rate. Some pay a good percentage yet don't pay for deadhead or relocation costs. Some mileage companies pay those and while the overall rate may be less, they are actually making more overall if those costs are included. Have to look at the whole...

    Obama's highest gas prices ever.

It isn't just fuel. As we keep spending (16T so far) we are putting the dollar in jeopardy. As it loses value, the poor will be hurt the most because their dollar buys less. One of these days, the poor are going to figure it out. Probably when they buy a gallon of milk and it is 8 bucks.
