? Educate me please. Never had one, what's the difference? I even looked up the 4 speed auto, overdrive same as the later ford 5 speed, are chevys that much better?

Big Truck Just curious...HOW do you make money in a straight truc

Hovering around 1.20 canadian for vans if I'm lucky, at 4 US per mile maybe OVM could sponsor a fellow Canadian after I buy a straight truck ;)

Big Truck Just curious...HOW do you make money in a straight truc

As a cargo van driver, I was always curious...how do you guys make money? I heard when diesel was up it cost 80 cents a mile just for fuel, and the per mile rate isnt that much more than vans... HOS limits your range, repairs and tows cost a fortune, not to mention insurance...cost of...

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

Lately that's my most travelled route...thanks for the heads up, I only think in DOT terms internet says 9600 lbs = 4354 what's the max GVW to be safely left alone here? Or does the fact that it looks over 4500 mean i'm doomed to be constantly checked out? And I've never done the yellow sticker...

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

Through that stress induced rant I think I missed the fact that an E350 Aerocell CW can achieve 17 mpg on the highway, but not a 4 speed with 4.59 gears. Thanks, Moot Can anybody confirm? I got 21 mpg over hundreds of thousands of miles with a 7.3 E350 so yes I can go easy...

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

Well I pay less than 2000 for vans, do all my own maintenance (trans went, switched out my spare in the driveway in t dark) and 500 miles costs me 35-45 in fuel...maintenance runs me another 1 or 2 thousand, then I scrap van after 2 years...don't get me wrong I do admire you guys sipping coffee...

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

Good advice, now that you mention it, in the last few years I've seen a lot of pulled over cubes, and pickup/trailers...felt immune to it in the normal cargo van

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

Good point. Just want something big enough I don't have to turn down a load after driving hours to pick it up...more worried about expenses, I know nothing about the single rear wheel cubes...anything over 2500 seems to go to the straights at my carrier...

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

BTW thanks for responses, I had a regular run for 9 years and I'm totally out of the loop for expediting...trying to build out a cheaper Sprinter size to match carriers requirements...

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

:) For why? The whole attraction of under 10000 is thumbing my nose at the scales on the way by...think DOT would assume it looks like a box van and I need to scale? Even if a gas van came to 6000 lbs it would leave me plenty to play with at the 9600 gvw...

Same as e350, but brochure states up to 700 lb lighter with fibreglass box...it's on standard 138" wheelbase

Cargo Van Lost route...need advice on van

Wait, you don't mean the Transit based, do you? I have no idea how you guys with big payments do it, tried that 10 years ago, drove a million miles on that van to make it worth it...

17 would be nice! Thanks, this is exactly what I need to know. Right now I'm practicing my restraint, i'm stuck in a natural gas van with very few options to refuel...
