    LandShark is out of business.....

Update your sharing rules so they can't see your posted trucks. Takes care of that problem real quick.

H/W teams so hard to find??

I agree on the sleeper. Carren and I ran last year in a 96" and I wouldn't think of teaming in anything smaller.

    Where is the freight?

Where is the freight? A lot of it has been in our trucks this week. I'm hoping this continues.

do use pc miler or something else

I've been thinking about getting it, but we currently use Streets & Trips with it set to prioritize interstates. It works pretty good for getting mileage.

H/W teams so hard to find??

All of our teams are running their doors off right now. Good teams are probably keeping quite busy at the moment, so I wouldn't imagine there are too many of them looking to jump ship.

Best Bluetooth headset, no Blue Parrots here

I have used the Plantronics Voyager Pro for a couple years now and that includes a few months in a truck last year. It did fine in the truck and I never had trouble hearing anyone.

It's a good area. You're also close to Bennington, VT, which has had a lot lately.

The good old days of expedited freight.

Seeing the title reminds me of a certain Carly Simon song.

This doesn't surprise me that much. I hope their owner operators land with good companies.

If the compartment is hidden, how is a law enforcement officer going to find it?

The Effervescent Joy of Expedite CEO's

Except in most cases a partner carrier costs more than a contractor. After all, that partner is a carrier as well with contracted drivers running for a certain rate. They're not going to take a load for less than their driver would do it for. If someone calls me to move a load and I have a...

The Effervescent Joy of Expedite CEO's

So what should I do if I get a call from someone with a piece of freight he wants hauled and we don't have a truck near it? Should I just say, "Tough luck, I don't have a truck", or should I maybe try to cover it with a partner who might have a truck in the area? If I put that piece of...

Sylectus isn't a load board, but it has a load board. That is only one feature of the whole, so to speak. Generally, the larger companies might utilize more of the features than the smaller companies. Here's how we use the site. We're a fairly small company, just running a dozen trucks at...

    Logging

I think you lose some minutes here and there with the paper log because of everything being in 15 minute increments while an electronic log does everything right to the minute.

    LRT, Landshark, or Errands 1st

We only have two cargo vans left and if they quit I'm not so sure I'm going to replace them. With the straights it's odd if one of them has hours and is still sitting at the end of the day, but with the vans you have to fight tooth and nail to get anything resembling a decent rate. The last...

I kept it strapped up against the wall and never had any issues. It was trickier when I tried taking it in my Sprinter.

What Carrier Services do Own-Authority Expediters Use?

Factoring is a necessary evil these days, but when I was out there just booking my own stuff and not running any other units, I didn't factor that much. Once you get past the initial 30 days you have the money rolling in and everything's good. It's when you want to start paying contractors...

    XPO Logistics ?

Here's some basic math. If I would have taken that load offer yesterday about $1.14 a mile would have gone to the truck. Their cost per mile to operate that truck is close to $1.00 and it's a team truck. That's a .14 a mile profit on 700 miles. If they put the hammer down and knock that load...
