    Magellan GPS

Recently in an EO article about new driver Broompilot (Kraig Allen), he talked about how valuable he found his Magellan GPS unit. Looks to me like a Roadmate 700 if I'm guesssing correctly. While I like the idea of a standalone GPS, I don't see anything in the literature so far about truck...

    ARE YOU SAFE IN FLORIDA?

I'm in Sanford, FL, just north of Orlando. Worst of the storm here was Sunday morning from about 6 AM till noon. Howling wind and rain for almost 6 hours. Power went out at my home about 11 PM Saturday, but came back on Monday AM about 9:30 or so. We didn't get quite as much rain as they had...

Expedite Expo Expedite Expo 2004 Pictures

Nice pics, especially the one I found with me in it :) I'm glad I invested the money to make it to the Expo. My wife and I are planning a career change into expediting, and I had a great chance to talk to people in the industry and learn more about it. Thanks for putting it on.

    truck size

Another Class 8 option is being built by Jay Mott of M&M Trucks in Orlando. He's building expeditor trucks using new Peterbilt 387's as the starting point. Nice rigs, set up with automatic trans, etc. He doesn't do custom sleepers, though, so you're limited to the factory condo unit. He also...

    Up Front Costs

I talked to one O/O about their program, and was told that they paid 60% of the truck revenue to the driver(s), but that driver's were responsible out of that for fuel and tolls. If I remember correctly, they also kept 40% of any fuel surcharges, but I may be mistaken on that point...

    Communications on the Road

My wife and I are planning to get into expediting in the near future, and are making plans and gathering information. We've been wondering what cellular phone company has the best nationwide coverage, payments, and service. Who do you use, and what has been your experience with them? Do you...

Going from an 18 wheeler to a 6 wheeler.

I'm not out on the road yet, so don't have a great deal of info but.... While visiting a local guy who builds class 8 expedite trucks (new and used), we rean into a couple who drive for ConwayNow. They were trading in their Class 7 w/ a 96" sleeper for a used Class 8 with factory 70" sleeper...

    Inside of Box

Weave: If you use the first foot and a half of a 24' box, do you then list yourself as having a 22' box, since that's the effective capacity of your unit? This is a great idea. I had thought about hanging bikes from the roof of the truck, but this makes even more sense: just build storage...

Whats the better Truck??? & Why-Opinions/Reasons

RE: Whats the better Truck??? & Why-Opinions/Reaso My wife and I are planning to get into expediting, hopefully this summer. We just finished a driving class to get our Class B CDL's (still have to take the hazmat written test, though). We've decided to invest, if we possibly can afford it, in...
