    Gotta love them Fedex drivers.

There's someone who watched one too many episodes of Dukes of Hazzard.

    Say Hi to July

Actually still sitting in the office at this hour, waiting on a driver who wanted to stop by and pick some paperwork up.

    Brokering is so easy......

That's not the issue. I'm getting plenty of bids. Just that everyone is quote shopping and it seems that very rarely am I dealing with anyone who just plain has a load, or if someone has a load they're shopping the daylights out of it and looking at LTL and cargo plane options.

    Welcome to June, 2014

Still sitting at my desk, wondering if I'm into detention time or not.

Knights of the Road, we all are....soon or later.

Congrats. Anyway, was I the first person who saw the thread title and thought of the pilot in Flyboys who was calling them knights of the air?

    Brokering is so easy......

I've posted...I lost count how many I've posted...and I haven't booked one of them all day. People are either shopping stuff around like crazy or just fishing for quotes, but you'd think the numbers would swing in my favor sooner or later. The funny thing is that every time I post a load it's...

I'm going to kind of miss working from home

My plan is to have at least one person on each shift trained and certified on the forklift.

I'm going to kind of miss working from home

Ha ha. Place in Fairfield has one for a reasonable price. I'm going to look at it next week. It's ten years old.

    Load One Trucks sitting

For one, I try not to form my opinion of a carrier on what I hear from a couple drivers at a truck stop. A guy can be having a down week for whatever reasons and it's his company's fault or his dispatcher's fault. We've had a couple drivers quit because we weren't a good fit for them and we...

    Load One Trucks sitting

When you have that many trucks you're going to have a bad apple here or there, and a couple of those can have an effect on your score. If you have a couple guys who get hit for silly form and manner stuff that can add up and give you a bad score on HOS. Then the whole thing with warnings still...

    Who to sign on with?

Before I started my company I drove for them for a few months. They were ok back then. If you're staying in a van I'd research carefully. We're not even looking at vans right now. We'd rather run our straights and broker out van loads when we get them.

    Fatigued Driving

I feel that I was safer driving a Sprinter and napping when my body needed to rather than when I was in a straight and could only sleep when the log told me to. I can't count the number of times I was on a load with enough cushion time to take a nap but couldn't because I couldn't "legally"...

Well, I have a very white collar background before I got in this business......and my wife is in the office next to mine.

I'm going to kind of miss working from home

We're definitely going to generate as much money as we can from the warehouse. I'm hoping to have a forklift in a week or two.

I'm going to kind of miss working from home

1500 square foot office and 2000 square foot warehouse with one truck dock.

I'm going to kind of miss working from home

I've enjoyed working from home, but the time has come to move on. Starting in the new space tomorrow morning with three people, dispatchers to move in when the cubicles are installed in a couple weeks. Anyway, my little corner office isn't bad. [/URL]

What companies are taking private for hire cargo van with proper commercial insurance

Re: What companies are taking private for hire cargo van with proper commercial insur I think he's talking about the multi carrier thing. If a company allows that, look for a different company.
