    Runing I-70 across CO

Good call MR. Woodman... That's exactly what I was going to mention. Post the last 8 digits of your vin on your truck in 2'' or larger characters and you will have relatively few problems with the Colorado scales. Say Hi to Utah for me, I miss it sometimes. What a place to be a teenager...

Take the Mic and put it real close to the speaker - then key it up. You can give everybody feedback that way.

    Conflict of Interest?

Steady, Seems recuriters want no part of this topic....wonder why? I'm your huckleberry. I'll go there. I cannot speak for any other company except Express-1, but I can tell you that there are no Employee owned trucks in our fleet - Period. I put my reputation on the line every day for this...

The destruction of the Bug Population

Benny - Without a little (or a lot in some cases) humor in our attitude the world can drag us all down pretty quickly. The best skill that an expediter (or anyone) can have is to make the best out of a negative situation. Attitudes are contagious, and I'm hoping that a whole bunch of folks on...

The destruction of the Bug Population

I have a scientific hypothesis to adress this scenario... I believe that the truck manufacturers are now using the same kind of glass on the windshields that was once used only in rear windows. I always had to scrub bugs off of my pickup truck windshield, but the rear window was almost always...

    Company name on truck

The way that I understand this regulation is that all vehicles that are hauling freight commercially require authority regardless of size. Any vehicle utilizing a DOT number must have it displayed along with the company name in a legible manner. That's the way I read it..... Scott

    what companys will hire

Shadow - It is in your best interest to call the different companies that advertise on this site. Not all companies will require that you go into Canada. It is an issue that can be worked around in a lot of cases, and is probably not the end of the world. - Scott

    Lightning Kills Truck

In the late 80's I was driving a Chevy Celebrity (I liked it) just outside of Dayton Ohio and got Nailed by a Lightning bolt as I was driving down the road. This really did happen - contrary to the myth that it can't. The majority of the electrical system fried on the spot and the car was...

    Bypass Filter for CAT 3126

I have never used a bypass filter - but I can attest to the fact that adding a gallon of Lucas oil additive at each (10,000) oil and filter change will keep your Cat purring well past the 400K mark without a lube related breakdown. Been there, Done that - I believe in the stuff. I'd say it pays...

    cargo van info

I can speak only for Express-1, but yes - a minimum of a chauffeurs endorsement (or) class C cdl - depending on what your state offers, is required to operate a cargo van for our company. We are currently adding cargo vans to our fleet, but only in the owner/operator capacity. I tend to...

Any companies Looking For 24' Trucks

Justdoit - I would suggest calling the different recruiters for the companies that sponsor this site. A good straight truck can find a job almost anywhere, but finding a home will take some one on one conversations. Spend a little time and establish some rapport with the different companies, you...

    Experience question

Good question Greg - Every company is different in their experience requirements, so it is important to speak with them individually. As a rule, (and a very general one at that) Experience is constituted by having to keep a log book. Any over the road experience would require a driver to keep a...

    DOT-Legal Sleeper

I love this kind of question - it makes me dig into the regs!! Here goes: In accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations section 393.76, to be legal a sleeper berth must: 1. Be a minimum of 75 inches long. 2. Be a minimum of 24 inches wide. 3. Be at least 24 inches from the top...

I'll never go here for service again

On an opposite note... One of my favorite places for a PM or repair was at the Petro in Kingdom City, MO on I-70. Prices were fair and the quality of service was excellent. I made it a point to do PM's there. They were the kind of place that would hit all the fittings with the grease gun - and...

Nations Express or a company with no limit on mile

RE: Nations Express or a company with no limit on Frap - The limit to miles probably comes from a safety standpoint, and although a van is not subject to DOT HOS regulations, anything more than 750 miles on a straight thru run for a single driver is pushing the envelope as far as the wellbeing...

    Michigan to Enforce (see headlines)

This State could use a breath of fresh air. Ted may not be politically correct but he definitely knows how to keep things real. I would expect no politically driven fantasyland out of the Nuge.
