    Maximum hours for cargo vans

Leo - That 605 limit is for a solo Straight Truck or Tractor. That is about the max number of miles that can be done legally (HOS) in a best case type scenario. Good to hear from you - you do a great job on the forums!! - Scott

    Loads out of Florida

The sad truth of the matter is that once you get south of Jacksonville the expedited freight gets pretty scarce. Florida is a great consumer state but not really a producer aside from well... produce, and that comes back out on 53' reefers. The Sunshine State is not really what I'd call an...

    Maximum hours for cargo vans

Although the DOT does not impose regulations on vehicles under 10,000lbs GVW, the deciding factor in trip limits is simply common sense. We try to keep it around 750 or so without a break. No freight is so hot that it won't cool off in a ditch. Be Safe - Scott

Los Angeles based O/O Class C truck

Please see the post titled "Midwest Van Runs". It should answer some questions for you regarding the feasibility of "local" runs in expediting. A good company to consult regarding West Coast freight is FedEx Custom Critical. One of their recruiters would probably be a great resource for you...

    MIDWEST VAN RUNS

Thanks Lawrence, I would definitely agree. Staying out for a minimum of at least 10 days at a time will help you achieve the kind of income needed to justify the lifestyle. Honestly, it is a lifestyle and not just a job. - Scott [p]...

    CB Radio

A Cobra 29 is generally a good radio right out of the box - and any good CB shop can horse one up to do whatever your heart desires. They are good radios either plain or in the hot rodded versions. A good antenna is a must. I'd recommend a "monkey-made" available at the CB shop in Knoxville...

    Need inf.

Michael - The best way to get the ball rolling is to start calling the different companies listed on this site. All the recruiters would be happy to send you an information packet about their company, and give you a formal indoctrination into the world of expedite. Welcome to our world - Scott

    Kansas

Goof - I'd start calling some of the air freight, cartage, or courier companies that are listed in the local phone book. Most of these type operations will be centered around an Airport. Traditional expediting will not normally lock you into a geographic area. Best of luck in your search - Scott

Everyone says a d unit can haul c and b freight

RE: Everyone says a d unit can haul c and b freigh Why a straight truck? Simple Geometry: A van load will fit in a straight truck, a straight truck load will never fit in a van. Ponder on that... Most generally, bigger really IS better. once again, My $.02 - Scott

    A newbie update

When I was on the road I always wore my dog tags for emergency purposes - and carried a spare door key on the same chain. Maybe not a fashion statement, but functional nonetheless.... Scott

Nations Express or a company with no limit on mile

RE: Nations Express or a company with no limit on EO stands for Expediters Online. It is a website, not a company. It is still where to find the truth about expediting.

    No BOL

Do companies hire by were your located?

Hey PG, I understand your situation, but you sum it up quite well. The majority of the fleet owners ARE in the MI, IN, and OH areas. My suggestion to you is to look in your local yellow pages for a courier or cartage type company. They are usually located around airports. Working for a company...
