    Arizona based

You will also find that Tri-State has west-coast freight out to CA and AZ. Give them a call and one of the recruiters can fill you in. If your willing to stay out 2-3 weeks out, getting out west in a tractor shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck, abcwine

Help finding a good expedite Co. to work for

After further review.......the play will NOT stand as called. I thought about this and went to our compliance department to investigate. Sorry for the bad call, but a refusal is the same as positive and after three years, you should be ok. I read it wrong and thought of refusal for drug...

    looking for freight

Good Luck. Don't really know of any expediters that would do a dedicated route in that area or any area. With that equipment, you may of had a chance with a couple of expediters out there, but you may want to consider a company (I think) out of Cincinnati or Columbus called Priority. I do...

    Escrow????

Good question. Escrow usually covers the cost of permitting the vehicles, fuel taxes, trailer, and qualcom. Depending on what type of vehicle you are, would determine how much escrow is due. Escrow is usually deducted weekly until the full amount is collected. It is held in a T-bill acount...

what companies hire non haz-mat cdl b drivers

Mhoy40, I do believe there are companies that will hire cdl b's without haz. Usually, it would be one of the smaller companies. Why not get your haz mat anyway? It would open the door for you to many other companies. ABC

    CDL'S and Driving Time

Peachypoo, It seems that most of the expedtie companies have incorporated some sort of new dot training into their orientations. This is usually another hour added to the class focused entirely on the "newbies". ABC

Help finding a good expedite Co. to work for

Miekm124, I think Tennesseahawk has it right. Refusal is considered to be (in most cases) a positive. If you are looking to get into the expedite industry in a cargo van, you would probably want to approach the smaller companies that do not require a cdl and that don't run dac. Good Luck...

Recruiters, why should I sign my D unit with your

RE: Recruiters, why should I sign my D unit with y LDB, Good Luck! First of all I would assume you would be running single with those figures? Realistically, your close, but you will do more deadhead than 15%. Deadhead is usually closer to 30%. Check with the companies you are talking...

    No Computers in North Carolina?

kswish, Got your e-mail. Appreciate you looking for my input. Funny to say, I can relate to the incident. It happened to me about 8 yrs ago, when I had to renew my license in Ohio. Found out I had a unpaid speeding ticket in PA. Just like you, completely forgot about it or thought I...

    CDL'S and Driving Time

Truckwife, Most companies will be drooling for a husband and wife team to get into the straight truck business. Most of us don't require current drive time in the straight truck division. So if this is something you want to do, than please pursue it. Good Luck and feel free to ask any...

You might want to try Bolt or Express 1 or Nations. It depends on where you live, may help you decide on which carrier you would try. Not sure if they lease on non cdl operators, but it would be worth a try. Also, there are smaller companies out there that would lease you on, but I really...

    Am I being blown off?

Jerseycoast, That is unfortunate. Normally the recruiter will mail out information either that day or the next day with an application and a business card for you to call them back. Unfortunately, we can't always trust the post office or maybe that particular recruiter missed your mailing...

    Introduction and question

With a pick up truck, you might want to try CTX, or trade it in for a cargo van and just about any carrier that is accepting vans can lease you on. ABC

    driving experience

Tri-State will accept individuals without any experience to operate a D' unit. As long as you are able to find an owner that would accept you without any experience you should be o.k. Most fleet owners will not have too much of a problem putting you in a straight truck, especially if you are a...

    Introduction and question

Puddle Pirate, Most expediting companies have different types of equipment that are lease on. From pick up trucks to tractors. Most of us do not require any experience with the smaller divisions of vehicles. If you are interested in a straight truck with a sleeper, just about all of us can...

Zebra, In order for your wife to be a co-driver with you, you must find a company that does not require a cdl to operate a cargo van. Some of the smaller expediting companies will allow drivers to operate cargo vans or vehicles under 26,000 gvw without a cdl. Good Luck, ABC

    Insurance

I don't know of any off hand, but most companies have an insurance company that they go through for some type of group rate. You can call Transport Insurance Agency out of Sylvania, OH and they can give you a quote over the phone. 888-935-4842. Hope this helps, ABC

Newbie for foot in the door

Terryhop, Most expediting companies do not have their own equipment for you to drive in. Your choice would be to either drive for a fleet owner to test the waters or buy your own truck and be your own boss. If your not sure about the business, a common way of trying the expediting industry...
